Thinking about taking back roads over to Barber one day in the near future...anyone in the area interested? I think this was tried once before w/out much interest, but I thought I'd see if anyone is game.

Edit...I am in the West Metro Atlanta area.

I would probably be interested but it would depend on the date. I would also prefer to stay in Birmingham overnight so I could enjoy a good meal and a few adult beverages afterwards without having to get a lecture from wifey.

Cool...I'd be up for that too...it's only 140 miles or so from here, but taking the back Alabama country roads it's likely to take 3-4 hours so it would make sense to stay there...that way we wouldn't have to rush through the musuem...I should be able to make any Sat work until July 16...after that weekends get busy for a few weeks...

    Yup!!!

Good idea. Count me in. I may have to teach class on some Saturdays in
September but as soon as we have a date, I can make a plan. I'm in Atl
right at I 20 about twenty minutes from Douglasville.

New to riding a VFR 6th gen. Any other VFR forum members ride in the HSV area? Been riding with sportbike riders through TVSC for 12 years here.

Well the vintage bike festival is going on October 7-9 so I vote to make the trip coincide and we check out the races.

Bummer, I've got a golf fund raising event this Friday and I have to teach class this Saturday.
It's a shame that work gets in the way of play.

Rollin, Im definitely interested. I would be coming from Maryville, TN and probably trail my bike to Atlanta area and ride from there. You know some good twisty backroads to Barber??

Well I shredded what was left of my rear tire riding 350 miles of twisties yesterday. I'm going to try to get a new tire installed tomorrow so that I can go to Barber on Saturday. My plan was to take the long way there and stay the night somewhere in Birmingham and check out the museum and races on Sunday. What are you thinking? I don't think you'd need to trailer since I would be coming North toward Dalton, GA and then making my way down from there.

    Barber

After a couple days passed without hearing back I went ahead and made other riding plans for up this way. Maybe next time....
