Atypical RR problem... it doesn't like the rain?

    Sorry for the noob question, but...
    If I haven't had any symptoms of an R/R problem (4th gen. bike), is there anything I should do now? I heard about adding a PC fan.

    Well the RR on my 4th gen didnt go until about 18K miles - so just save your pennies for a new one - youll need it eventually.

    Does the unit just "go bad" after a while?
    Will installing the cooling fan help it?

    whew glad i got a 6th gen that rr and pn stuff sounds crazy never had any of those problems on other bikes in rain cold hot long trip short trip but i agree with the yusa batterys only sounds like the good buy may need a trip to the shop sure they know what the problem is.. oh did you ask the person you bought it from why they are selling it??hummmmmmmm........

    I'm way far from expert on electrical stuff but on my 4th gen I would notice the lights and dash would get extremely bright and then go dimmer than normal. It was a head scratcher to me, so as a pre-emtive strike I jumped out and bought a new OEM Honda RR and bolted it it. Lights fixed, no more goofy glowing and dimming.

    I have thrown out this guy several times but he seems to have a handle on the VFR charging system - take a read - www.wiremybike.com
