As I mentioned before, go to Lust Racing and get the lowering link/kit from them, there is nothing wrong with lowering your bike as long as you do it correctly. As far as the twitchy steering, that can be worked out. The only item I think you need to ditch is the adjustable (read: explode-able ) link. There are plenty of members here that have lowered their bike with great results. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

Ok, so rode it with the rear low and the front stock. Steering felt heavy and when turning, the bars would want to tuck in like the bike wanted to fall over. Dropped the front 3/4 inch and although the tires suck, it felt better. I think I'll get it all sorted out and then have the. Make me a link the length I need like you said. Although looking at my adjustable one, it does not look cast like the one that broke in the pics.

The lust lowering kit is just the triangle plates, not the link. I'll have to try to find the stock link on eBay or something.

not to hijack the thread but, a lot of interesting info here from some knowledgeable guys chiming in so since i have had the thought of lowering my bike i have a couple questions. 1) will just flipping the stock triangles on my 07 lower the rear 3/4 inch? 2) how much will lowering hurt me in the corners as far as scraping goes? i tour, comute and carve on my bike. dont wanna make it dangerous.3) if i lower it how much will that interfere with any suspension mods i may wanna make in the future, when i become a more experienced rider?

i can touch the ground with both feet no problem, just not flat footed. lowering it would make it better but is not necessary by any means. i do think it would look better and would get the center of gravity down a bit but dont wanna lose any capability or create a dangerous situation. i wanna customize my bike, not fuck it up!

I recently received my reworked suspension from Daugherty Motorsports(Jamie) and had a good chat with him regarding lowering my bike a bit. I'm 29" inseam. He is not a huge fan of lowering the rear (that was my take) of the bike. I think he might be concerned about clearance/bottoming issues, but he did acknowledge that guys do it and to each there own. He did say that raising the forks up to 10mm should not be a problem. I went ahead and flipped the triangles and dropped the front 9mm. The side stand still works okay so it must not lower the bike significantly. I changed quite a few things at the same time so I can't speak as to how this one thing affected the handling. Suspension mods......awesome! Michelin PR3's awesome. New EBC HHS pads, good. The bike feels very nimble but stable and the suspension is very compliant and confidence inspiring. I would whole heartedly recommend any of these upgrades.
And that's all I got to say about that!

I meant to mention this earlier, you can also go to a cobbler, (shoe repair) and have your soles redone. I did this and had him add a half inch, and it makes a big difference, Cost me $60 bucks and well worth it. My soles on my boots were wore and I was going to buy a new pair, glad I didn't.

As I mentioned earlier I also have the adjustable link but didn't adjust it. Today I put on the stock Honda link and the bike is the same height.
