As soon as the race was declared wet I thought Rossi was going to win it.
Seems like the kid (MM) has a bit more to learn about the wet. He was riding brilliantly on Rossi's ass until he grabbed just a wee bit to much throttle. Poor Cal get taken out by his teammate, his luck this season continues. JL faded.

It's a blast seeing how each rider takes the leaps, most of our short circuits have some crazy sections, the track at Scarborough (also known as Olivers Mount) is barely single lane width with some tight hairpins, you've got to have big balls if you're going to pass anyone on that track

The Irish road racing is the really scary stuff, some of the 'tracks' are just farm roads barely wide enough for a car, yet the racing is so close and so fast, Guy Martin overtook Michael Dunlop on one corner where there was barely enough room for one of them

The MotoGP was good, I feel sorry for Lorenzo, after his big off in the wet in 2011 he's never got his confidence back, Valle refers to it as physiological rain, I know what he means

That video I posted in #1777 has some of the best slow motion of that jump I have seen. The take off's look like they are in an aircraft not on bike.

Great shots in 4 K slow mo. Notice how many guys are wearing elbow sliders now? MM has changed the sport. Now if any of the aliens can do MM's trail braking in a turn with the rear wheel in the air trick I will be truly impressed. He is the only one that does it on purpose and can set it down without totally upsetting the bike. Nuts! But he still has a bit to learn about the wet from the Doctor. lol I was hoping he took 2nd and have a 3 way run for the championship at the end of the year. Looks like Rossi and JL only now.

I don't know how you guys get to watch MotoGP, all the rights were bought up over here by BT and it's shown live on their Sport channel

If you get a chance watch the pre race interview with Valle, he talks about Marc being the future way to ride, something he sacked his old team boss over, Valle has altered his style to be able to compete with Marquez, Lorenzo has also altered his riding style, still very neat and tidy compared to Marc

He also talks about returning to Yamaha with his tail between his legs, if you speak Italian what he actually says is both funny and humble

As for Marcs off, the general consensus is that Honda still haven't sorted the fuelling sorted out, both Marc and Dani Pedrosa have complained about the way the bike is a problem getting on and off the gas, pity as it would have been a great race

Hats off to Petrucci, he deserved that 2nd place :eek:nthego:

Is it past the date where Dorna lets them mod their engines?

That is some crazy racing! In 6th gear at 13K wheeling over the hill and the rpm's hit the limiter, nuts! Crazy how he split between the front to riders at the start of the second lap.
    Where is that?

It's in Northern Ireland, Joey Dunlop country for those old enough to remember him, the local pub, Joeys Bar, fields a 125cc 2 stroke in his memory at every meeting

These boys race for Dollartree value prizes, they just want to race, here's a link to the 'Armoy Army' website http://www.amrrc.com/

Joey Dunlop is a legend to some over here too. Probably more for his Isle of Man racing and Formula 1 wins. His nephew Michael seems to have the skills. I remember he won a race 2 days after his father, Joey's brother, was killed in a race.

If you haven't seen it watch the film (or in Irish fillum) Road, it's a narrated by Liam Nielson, it shows Robert Dunlops bike lock up at 150+mph, he was William and Michaels Dad, Michael was holding his hand as he died

Yes he did go out 2 days later and fulfil his Dad's wishes that "there would be one Dunlop on top of the podium this weekend"

It's not a feel good film, poor old Ma Dunlop burying another of her boys, but resigned to it might be one of the others next

I think it's only a PAL area2 DVD but a definite must see

The engines have been sealed since before the season started (first race), at least for the factory classified teams.

I have always liked John McGuiness, not just for his unbelievable TT run he has had but as to how transparent he is.

My favorite article I have read in MCN was about dirt bike riding with John Mcguinness, Cal Crutchlow and the European dirt champ (can't remember his name) on the Isle of Man. The main part of the interview was done at Johns local pup. They were hysterical. No US mag would have printed half of what was in the article. Funniest line was when John was asked what he would be if he was not a racer. "I'd be a porn star but me cock's to small". LMAO

Whic leads to this old gem.

I sure like the post race interview with the 3 podium finishers. Dannilo Petrucci stole the interview. Refreshing to see someone show some emotion, and be hyped to win. By the end though V. Rossi wanted to go! I was very happy that Rossi won, but even happier Petrucci got second. Hopefully Ducati will give him some help for the Italian round.

The post race interview was very funny. Dannilo was great. He said he had only passed JL and Danny in the PlayStation MotoGP game.
