It's hard to tell much from any of the times, especially Bradl's time, no idea what he was testing, or what their program was. I just thought I would chuck it up there, as it seemed relevant to the earlier discussion.

It's the official end to the winter break now and we are starting to kick the year off in this thread. Seems like it's been a longer break than it really was.....for me, it's mostly because of all the changes of riders and teams, teams and factories, guys moving up in classes, guys moving down in classes, guys moving to other series, and new the new bike for Ducati this go 'round. Very interesting season ahead for most classes and championships, well, except for MotoAmerica. :deadhorse:

Kind of interested to see how Lorenzo's injury and Marquez's surgery are going to play out before now and the Sepang test....Lorenzo is definitely out at the Sepang test.

My money is on Alvaro to be the serious Ducati threat for the championship. As much as I've followed Chaz since his AMA days on the Aprilia here in the US, I have a few lingering doubts, it would be great if they were proven wrong. The more competition, the better.

yes, I agree as good as Chaz is ( and I really rate him) he keeps having too many 'offs' to be consistent for the championship, mind you it is easy for me to say sitting here on a nice comfortable chair

That is definitely the reality of it. He has crashed out of too many races at critical times in the championship the last 3 years. But you can't fault a guy for giving 100%. A better machine could help him, not forcing him to ride on the upper limit, just to stay in contact with the front. He has worked hard, unfortunately, he isn't at peak fitness to start his season.

Fractured vertebrae at Misano, then his collarbone at the Portimao test in August. Still isn't healed 100%.

Rea has incredible consistency. He will be the one to beat again.

The way things seem to be going, he could win 10 straight championships. I just don't see any real serious threat, other than boredom, or a MotoGP ride.

If he was to win 10 straight....he would only be 37. He will probably be racing against Rossi by then.....

There is no denying the crazy ability these guys have for staying at the highest peak of physical fitness, especially Rossi. The old man can still throw down the lap times.

A lot is all the dirt bike riding at his personal track. That will keep you sharp.
