Holy cow, speed is showing the Daytona 200 at 11am on the 12th. they must be on something.
but if you want to see the other races you must wait untill midnight 3/13 and 1am on 3/13 to see the super bikes.
Mighty white of them, I see the DMG is good with that and doesnt have any pull to show the races prime time

DVR to the rescue, I'm not sure how I ever lived without it. The tits at DMG and Speed are obviously banking on it.

Next IMO, will be organic GP. ;)

A couple of the electrics hauled some good ass at The Isle of Man last year. I expect to see some showings at Bonneville too.

No problem at all with a zeroshift. It's a prototype class to begin with, and more importantly, it's within the rules (although I'm sure there will be plenty of bitching). If the other manufactorers are caught of guard and loose a handful of races because of it, then they've no one to blame but themselves; they'll quickly catch up with the new, I'm sure. If anything, Honda should be applauded for having designed a technology-DCT style shifting without a DCT-that no one else has considered.

Not any more, Bradl beat Pedrosa's 250 pole time at the Jerez test, and Marquez was only a few tenths behind.........

Thank you DMG for another &*^^%^%$%$!!! race and speed as well, god knows we cant run into a nascar truck qualifying to see the end of the 200 and no mention before you cut out as to if we will ever be able to see the end of the race.
I really think a 2 year old could do better with a cam corder a bunch of kids on pit bikes in a parking lot posted on youtube.

They showed it tonight, before the two Superbike races. The final lap in the 200 was amazing... Really good racing. Superbike was good as well. I'm looking forward to the season.

I haven't had time to bring myself up to date on what exactly occured with the spec tires to make the entire field have to change tires. I suppose DiSalvo should be taking some Dunlop tire guys out to dinner. Some may be upset that a red flag engine swap would be allowed but you have to give it to DiSalvos crew. I heard Dunlop only had one tire changer to do the whole field but that seems hard to believe. Speed Channel is taking some heat from people about cutting away, but Speed are NASCAR lackeys and that wont change anytime soon. If you want to see live coverage uninterrupted by circumstance you will have to move to Europe.

I just feel bad for Dane Westby. That sucked

    he is what I found
Cycle News | Lengthy Delay For Daytona 200
now after seeing danny crash, I did see the dunlop guy looking over his front tire, no chunking at all.

maybe it is time to let someone else step up to the plate and supply tires for the 200 seeing how dunlop seems to always have problems.
They can continue to use dunlop for the sprint races and use another brand for the endurance, or eliminate the spec rule for the 200 all together.

I've been avoiding this thread because, until today, I hadn't been able to watch the races. I recorded the races on DVR and went riding instead of watching live - I'm glad. I still don't know who won, or what was going down during the pick-up truck races, and it doesn't matter. Based on what I did see, I don't give a shit. Congratulations to both Dunlop and the AMA for reaching new lows I didn't think possible, and a big shout out to Speed - the only U.S. network, other than Lifetime, that makes European television production seem brilliant by comparison. I didn't even bother with the Superbike recordings because I didn't feel up to going through another session of closely monitored fast forwarding, so I just erased them.

Wow, that's a bit harsh... Both SBK races went off pretty much without a hitch. And Speed can't be blamed for Dunlop's crappy tires... I mean I don't like their coverage all that much either, but honestly, I'd rather have motorcycle racing coverage, then not...

If you follow Formula 1 at all, a couple years ago at Indy, they had a similar situation, prior to the Indy F1 Grand Prix, before the Bridgestone's were the spec tire for F1. In fact, that race was the primary reason that Bridgestone BECAME the spec tire for F1.

Basically, all the teams on Michelin's at the time, actually couldn't race, because their tires were so bad at that track, that after only a few laps, they could blow coming off the high banks heading into the infield, and possibly cause a death. So, we had an F1 race, with three team, all of 6 cars racing. It was all inter-team racing, because the teams were so far apart, it was three races of two.

Ridiculous, to a point of almost disbelief at the time. But, anyway, there you go; my point, can (and has) happen(ed) to anyone (or any company). Not to excuse them, just saying it's not unprecedented. In some ways, that actually makes it worse, as you'd think someone would learn from other's mistakes...

^^^ Obviously bad coverage is better than no coverage, and at least GP will be produced be the Europeons; should be more difficult for Speed to shit the bed since all they have to do is successfully work it into the programming schedule - we'll see if even that's possible. That said, I hope GP and WSBK find a new home with HDNET or the like. I can live without AMA racing in its current form.

When think you about it, no network is going to hold a live broadcast for two hours and try to fill it up with stuff no one will watch. You can only interview so many people and show old footage for so long. Since they had no clear idea of how long the delay would be, they tried for a while to fill dead air, but it couldnt go on forever.

Turns out it became a sprint race, and some crazy stuff happened, and its one more controversy for the books. What would racing be without controversy?

I know it may seem like AMA road racing is getting worse, but Im not ready to give up on it, its the only game we have.

    No....YOU RAWK!!!!!!

I see where he's back on the track this year, which is kind of surprising, I guess he really does love it and isnt willing to give it up yet.

Its a damn shame Pegram got taken out by his own guy early, although he did make an impressive run through the pack after having to restart last. As a big fan of the Beemers, you gotta like that.
