Yeah, eventually watched it live. Definitely worth waiting out the rain...

 

Vinales was very impressive, he must have passed Dovi 10 times before he made it stick at the end. Not only was he very smooth and clean passes he showed he has smarts too. The Ducky is stupid fast. Zarco was a big surprise. He said later that he was to excited and made a small mistake, slightly off line. He is going to be interesting this year too. And the old dog brought it on Sunday.
When Esparago got back to the Ape pit it looked like he had won the championship, they were going crazy. Good start for Aprillia.

JL did not look comfortable on the Duc, probably needs to talk to Dovi. lol

 

I knew right away MM would end up not winning this one, he almost never uses the medium front tire. I was really cheering on Zarco and thought with MM holding up the pack that he had a real chance of walking away from everyone.

It was kind of weird not seeing Whore-Gay at the front but I'm sure he'll start to get the hang of the Duc and start getting closer to the front runners. Although Aprilia did well, KTM is still trying to find their sea legs from the looks of it. I think Honda still needs to find something that will make their bike a little more competitive to the Yamaha and Ducati bikes and not solely rely on MM to have the right tire to allow him to make up time in the corners. He and Crutchlow seem to have the same issue, DP not as much, maybe because of his small stature he doesn't kill the front tire as much?

 

At the start was it JL that slammed into VR and broke his camera off?

The announcer thought it was one of the Pramac Ducatis but reviewing the footage, it did appear to be JL.

 

According to an article I just read; it was Cal and not a Ducati at all...
