The Hardley races were like a train wreck, I had to keep watching. Has to be the most sneakers I have ever seen.

 

Watched Moto 2 last night. Wow, Rins really screwed up, he had such a golden opportunity with Zarrco finishing in 12th. TOm Luthi ran a great race, 2 in a row. It still could be an interesting run for the championship but Zarrco probably has it if he can keep it shinny side up. Whats up with Lowes? 26 crashes so far this year and 5 at Phillip Island. Take away a couple of those and he would be leading the championship.

 

You can be a frequent crasher in free practice, you just can't be doing it in the races and expect to win championships. Fast but inconsistent.

 

Well if Zarco can win the race the Championship is his. Oddly, the two front runners Zarco had to contend with, Rins & Lowes, both put themselves out of contention and opened the door for Luthi. Luthi did a great job at PI and at Motegi. If he can win at Valencia, WOW that would be something. It would also put him and Zarco for a final match at Valencia. Let's see what happens this weekend.

This weekend is the final WSBK round. Similar to Zarco, if Rae can win the first race, the Championship is his. Pretty sure he'll be on the podium in both races. He's been pretty phenomenal all year. Chaz on the other hand has been doing much better in these later races. Would have been more interesting season had Ducati found whatever it is they found during their last test sooner!

One thing's for sure, I'll glued to the TV/Computer screen this weekend too!

 

Its a hell of a lot cheaper crashing a Moto 2 machine compared to a GP machine too! If he was wadding up 30 GP bikes he would not have a ride very long. lol

 

So according to Jorge "We struggle too much in these types of condition and I was not able to ride the way I wanted to. The temperature was too cold and that is why I suffered a lot, it was difficult to warm up the tyres."

Does his riding style not give him the ability to get heat into the tires? We know Dani with his small stature has difficulty but none of the other front runners on the track seem to have the same problem as Jorge. Cal did worry about it but even MV was able to use the same front as Cal without an issue. Don't recall what Rossi was running but I think it was the medium front.

 

It's amazing how quickly they can get them put back together too. I wonder how the Estrella Galicia team feels about Miller and all of his crash/DNF's?

 

Chaz has found his way after the summer break. If he races like that next year he could win it all. I still think the Duc should be limited to 1000cc's, they have so much grunt down the straights. I did not look it up but I think if Rae just has to finish around mid points to win.

 

Rae is 48 points ahead of Sykes at the beginning of this round. If he stays upright and/or doesn't have any bike issues (knock on wood), I can seem him taking home the Championship after the first race.

 

I've always liked JR. No nonsense, never complains in public when the bike lets him down, and always quick.....even on the Honda. Fitting he's the champ again.

Sweet! Have you seen or heard any test results as to their lap times compared to the other Manufactuerers?

 

Cool helmets too. The whole thing was right up there with destruction derbys, tractor pulls and sales at Wal*Mart.

 

Going to be very interesting next year. Seeing how well Suzuki has done with their come back too.

If it were not for some bad luck I think Rins would have easily won it this year. Don't count him or Luthi out just yet.

They tested side by side with all of the other manufacturers at the Red Bull Ring in Austria in July. Reports were that they looked much further along than most would have thought. Mika Kallio ended up just under 2 seconds behind the fastest rider. David Emmett at Moto Matters did a blog post about it.

In a few weeks time they will actually have their first race as a wildcard at the final round in Valencia. I don't think it will take them long to get up to a competitive pace. They will have decent riders on the bike to start 2017.
