Yes Argentina.... with a lot less testing time. Could actually be good racing.

Seems I'm more excited about WSB...Hope there's more competition this year in the GP instead of the same top 5. Hopefully the tire change will help

It's hard not to fall into the trap of thinking it is boring....it might not be exciting all the time, but the whole point of racing is to make sure you don't have a lot of actual competition, especially at this level. If you look more at what it takes to dominate the way these 5 do....it get's a lot more interesting, at least it does to me.

Racing at the level of MotoGP is much like Formula One. F1 doesn't usually have a ton of passing either. It is really more about who doesn't make a mistake, than about who can out maneuver whom. At that level, by race time, how it's going to finish is much like how it was qualified for, or a culmination of the practice times, if someone really hosed up the qualifying. Unless someone makes a mistake. Everyone is running at 99.9%, and they are doing so throughout the weekend, so by race time, it's really all decided, unless someone makes a mistake.

F1 has pit stops, which tend to put a bit more of a wrinkle in things, but only just; as the teams are almost all the same when it comes to those as well. Though, "who makes a mistake" can be spread to the teams as well; especially with tire compound requirements adding a strategic wrinkle to things as well.

But in the end, it's really about watching extraordinary people, ply their craft, at an extraordinary level, and waiting to see if anyone drops the ball, to end up in a spot that wasn't foretold by the timing of the weekend prior to the race...

Can still be good racing, but it's not the same thing as swapping paint...

for me, the most amazing pit crews in motorsports are in NHRA...change 4 tires with 20 guys in sub 4 seconds, pffffffft....how about you rebuild the engine too while you're at it.

Edit: This is pretty cool though....

George going to Ducati, iceskating in the heat of Argentina, Kawasaki's not fighting over who's fastest in Spain, and Trump is running for president... This must all be April Fool's shit...

Or, I woke up in 2016 in an episode of the Twilight Zone...

Well done Chas Davies, that was an excellent first WSB race at Arragon, the Kawasakis were still fighting it out to the line

I thought the Yamaha was doing fine after such a good start, then it just faded ....no sign of the Suzukis anywhere useful

Nice race! Chaz was all over Rea's ass trying to get around, but he did finally show a little patience and it paid off. He owns this track as of late. Rea said that they had bad problems and actually went back to older set ups to try and move forward. He said that he was actually learning the bike in the first part of the race. Mad skills to learn a bike during a race and then move it into 2nd place. Hope race 2 is as good.

Although I saw the race, aren't we supposed to give a spoiler alert when revealing a race outcome?

Nobody's given the results, just commented on the quality of the racing .....Johnny Rea is such a mild mannered guy off the track and so softly spoken it's hard to believe the change that comes over him when racing

TT coming up, the Hondas look set to take the Senior and Superbike ...

This thread should just be relabled spoiler. LOL

    Spoiler********************************************************

just watched Super Sport, Super Bike. Super Sport looked like an angry hornets nest that had been poked with a stick. Hats off to the Spanish corner workers! That is how its supposed to be done. They were 5 guys already heading to the 2 most hurt riders before they were done sliding, and tumbling. They looked well trained and very fast. That was a very nasty first turn crash.
PJ ....... crap, I had hope in this race. That Honda is fucked up!
Chaz is in the zone right now. Kawi has to fight back in Assen. Chaz 2nd now.

Moto 2 was some good racing. Sam Lowes looked like he was riding a dirt bike out there, I can't believe he managed to finish 2nd the way he was struggling with his tires at the end. Zarco, well the machne put in the fastest lap on th last lap. What can you say.... nuts.

No, not necessarily naming places, but one could derive from the post who the winner of the WSBK was. Then again, maybe I give too much credit to our members here. it's all good, just making sure we are cognizant of our post. Cheers!

I think adding a "possible spoilers" to the thread topic would be a good idea! Persoanlly I just like watching the action, if I know the outcome it still doesn't keep me from watching, although the suspense is taken away, it's still fun watching these guys do what they do!

Cause Suzi doesn't have a factory WSBK team anymore. Crescent, the team running the Yamaha's this year, were the factory Suzuki team prior. Suzuki factory put all their eggs (and what little money they have) into the MotoGP effort for now. Though, rumor has it they will have an all new production Gixxer next year, likely based on the MotoGP bike, since it's an inline 4 (unlike the other factory efforts in MotoGP) and should be more easily adopted to a production streetbike. This would be huge for Roger Lee and the American Suzuki effort, who had hoped to see the new bike in time for this year. We'll see.
