Though this is just testing it looks to be promising for a competitive year.
    Vinales on the Suzuki......... wow.

The opening day of the second 2016 MotoGP test took place at a wet Phillip Island in Australia on Wednesday.

The test got off to a wet start, with birthday boy Marc Marquez taking over at the top from Cal Crutchlow when the weather improved shortly before 2pm, only for the showers to return.

Later in the afternoon a small window of dry track time saw a flurry of activity, with Pramac Ducati team-mates Danilo Petrucci and Scott Redding leading the way on slicks... Then more rain.

The final minutes brought one last dry spell and thus a further shake-up of the timesheets, but Petrucci was also able to improve and defended P1 by a comfortable 0.7s over Suzuki's Maverick Vinales.

New Marc VDS signing Jack Miller was back on track, having missed the Sepang test while recovering from a broken leg in a motocross training accident. Eugene Laverty, who injured his hand at Sepang, was also riding.

Aprilia are not present this week, having instead elected to debut the new RS-GP at a private test in Qatar.

Testing, which took place between 10am and 5:45pm, continues on Thursday and Friday...

Day two of the second 2016 MotoGP test took place at Phillip Island in Australia on Thursday.

After another damp start the track dried out and, barrier a brief shower at midday, riders were able to steadily improve their lap times culminating in a 1m 29.131s for young Suzuki star Maverick Vinales.

A fall for Dani Pedrosa briefly brought out the red flags at 5:15pm, with a further stoppage after a spill for Yonny Hernandez (also at Turn 4) in the closing minutes. Both reported to be OK.

Testing, which took place between 9:45am and 5:45pm, concludes on Friday evening...

The final day of the 2016 MotoGP test took place at Phillip Island in Australia on Friday.

It was a dry with lap times soon into the 1m 29s, but rookie Tito Rabat brought out the red flags after an hour, with team-mate Jack Miller falling at almost the same time. After the restart Vinales, team-mate Aleix Espargaro and Tech 3's Pol Espargaro also fell without injury.

Rain arrived just after midday, sending riders back to the pits where most remained until 3:45pm. Rabat and Aleix Espargaro then crashed for a second time, with Bradley Smith and Cal Crutchlow also falling at Turn 4 (Honda hairpin).

The red flags came out again with one hour to go after an accident for Danilo Petrucci at the fast turn 8 (Hayshed). The Italian suffered a fractured right hand and will have further checks in Melbourne tomorrow.

Eleven riders fell on Friday: Rabat (twice), Miller, Pol Espargaro, Aleix Espargaro (twice), Vinales, Smith, Crutchlow, Petrucci, Eugene Laverty, Jorge Lorenzo and finally test pace setter Marc Marquez for a total of 13 different accidents. Most were at Turn 4, the Honda hairpin.

Testing took place between 9:45am and 5:45pm. The third and final pre-season test will be held at Losail, Qatar from March 2-4.

Aprilia was not present, having instead elected to debut the new RS-GP at a forthcoming private test in Qatar...

Don't forget this very helpful site for TV listing in the USA...

    http://www.cyclenews.com/motorcycle-tv-listings/

Unfortunately, it only shows the WSBK 2016 Season Preview at this point, and that's all I find in my cable guide to program my DVR too; however, according to WSK's website, BeIN is still showing WSBK in the USA, so I'm hoping it updates prior to next weekend...

Additionally, I have read rumors that BeIN may be showing all three series (e.g. MotoGP and MotoAmerica, besides WSBK) in the USA; though I have not seen anything official.

There is also this great site for the combined schedules...

    Nascar sucks!

As much as I enjoy most forms of racing, I do not believe that especially after what DMG did to American roadracing, belongs on a Motorcycle forum, especially a fine Honda V-FOUR Forum! That was one thing I did not miss with Speed Channel's demise, that old crony Darrell Waltrip saying "Boogity, Boogity , Boogity! Oh brother!
Geez, now you went and got me all fired up, on 8 pushrod activated cylinders, yet! I try and look at it as the same thing as a person enjoying their H.Davidson, to each their own! Cheers. Hopefully, "bINsports" will have swamp buggy racing as well?

Yeah, it seems like a "Don't ask, don't tell" policy. I'm still surprised that there haven't been more crack downs on aftermarket pipe use here in So Cal. Particularly after hearing all of those straight pipe Harleys blasting off from every stop light!
