just ordered everything to fix my bike off flea bay as well as new springs and emulators from racetech then I remembered I had to call and give the insurance compainy some more info before they would send the check. The lady said let me confirm the amount we're sending you...$1700+. I thought she said $1000 last time, got everything to rebuild it, plus upgrade the front forks and pocket $900. Oh, didn't order another full fairing, that one is very repairable. :D

Good that it seems to have worked out ok and you weren't badly hurt. Still doesn't excuse the idiot who took you out though.

If you still end up needing a set of forks I know a member here that has a set freshly rebuilt that you could have for a song.

Doesnt look bad at all! I have an entire front-sans wheel that I'd be willing to donate if you cover shipping from MD to GA. The forks are red, but that's pretty easily rectified.

Here's a great product to use to repair your fairing with. I've used this on a couple of different bikes I've had and it really works well. I've used it for mending cracks, making new tabs, I've even used it for making new "buttons" (the parts that plug into the rubber grommets). A little bit goes a long way. It's also a lot easier to work with than body filler; because it's plastic it doesn't require a primer to soak in and seal it.

finally got the baby moveable last night. I still have not got money from the insurance company. Still has to have both front rotors, they are warped so bad I couldn't ride with them, took them off and rode 20 miles with rear brakes only, never got over 45mph. She still runs like new.

I started with 10wt oil in the forks which turns out to be to light. I was after the faster rebound but it's a little bit to fast on larger bumps like bridges and big pot holes. On average country washboard roads (yeah our paved roads are wash boarded) it is unbelievable how much better the front end is. I had no idea how awful the rear shock was, all ways thought it was kinda soft and did a good job. It was all most like riding and the front tire not touching the ground while the back end was beating me to death.

Since there wasn't a soul on the road but me I did some aggressive slaloming between 35-40mph. The bike turned aggressively before but now it is crazy how fast it bites and turns. Before I could throw the thing around doing that and it happily went where I threw it, not it feels like if I threw it as hard as I use to I wouldn't stay on, more like it would turn and leave me going straight.

    Back on her feet

My baby back on her own two "feet" again. Did about 60 miles on her today. The new front brakes are great, I think if I'd had them to begin with I never would have hit the B!#@# that turned in front of me.

Before I had nearly 3/4 inch chicken strips and the pegs drug the ground now I have less than 1/4 inch chicken strips and the pegs were still off the ground, gota love good springs.

Still have some tuning to do, near the edge of the tire the front gets a really slow oscillation. Not sure if it's the front or the terrible rear causing it but I do know that there are two sets of S curves on a route that I ride, the fast set I could get to about 80 before the pegs drug, took them today and didn't have enough motor to push it near it's limit. The second section was about 70mph before, went through at 85 and other than the slight oscillation it was all most boring. Before I felt like I was pushing the bike to it's limits, today it felt like it was more like it laughed back and said "my turn".

I've ridden some really nice setups but the gold valves have absolutely shocked me in the bang for buck department, $400 ish for springs, seals and valves. I will not own another bike I plan to keep with out installing them from now on.
