A little update news. The PO had switched the emulsion tubes in the carbs and set the float level too high. Corrected those two items, cleaned and bench synced carbs and the bike runs very nice. It has a nice puuurrr now when the power rolls on.

    Good reading!

Nice. Still gotta get my 1985 going. Take a look on the web, I recently read an article written by a person who worked for Honda U.S.. He helped with the VF problems. He says that oil getting to the top end wasn't a problem, except for raced bikes. He said that there are 4 items, when combined, create the issues. He recommended that a person who rides a lot could go to Megacycle and have their cams and rocker arms hard welded. Very good articles. http://www.motorcycleproject.com/text/v4_cams_what.html

I have book on the history of the V4s, and it wasn't oiling, it was the way the engines were manufactured, Honda relied on a new technique rather than line boring the cam journals.

Probably a few maintenance videos. It's in great condition as is so no restoration necessary. I'll most likely upgrade the rear shock, possibly install new steering head bearings. I'll post videos of all that. :)

Here's a pic I took at work today. I think I like it better without the lower fairings in place. THIS is the bike I fell in love with long ago. :)

I had one of those! I assume you know all about its foibles because you had been wanting one for so long. Never lug the engine and keep the fuel tank full if you let it sit for any length of time and etc..

What size of VF do you have jslaferriere1977 ? I have a 1985 VF750FF. Hopefully I can ride that to Montreal sometime?

    Good looking machine there. :)

Here's where I'm at with the Sabre redo. VF1000 tank and my modded seat pan. Utility streetfighter. :)
