Yup. That is cold weather gear. I had no choice cause it was cool and just a little wet where I came from. I started out wearing my Gerbings but did not have to turn it on. The cold weather gear and the cheap rain gear kept me quite comfortable that way. The neck was a bitch though. Stopped into see a chyropractor a few hours ago here and had my neck crunched. Feels pretty damned good right now. Think I will drop back there before I head out hopefully Wednesday for another session.

Like Chicke posted we went to the Hoover Dam yesterday. IN A TRUCK for gawds sake. Oh well. What an amazing structure that is. When you think of the technology and conditions of the day, that dam was truley a massively impressive accomplishment. American ingenuity, brains and brawn at its best on that one. Got some nice shots but no bike. Will try to get those yet.

A relaxing day for me today while Chickie was out at work. Tomorrow will be laid back again. But I think I am going to throw out by black golf shirt and buy meself something a little lighter.

As of 16:00 hours today I AM OFFICIALLY RETIRED!!!!!!!!!!! Fixed income and megga bills to come.

If I get my bike back tomorrow, Chickie and I are going back to retrace a truck tour we did last night. I saw some good photo ops there. Last night we toured the old Las Vegas Casino area. All those neon lights and narrower streets is basicall what all us frosty heads think of when you mention Vegas.

BTW. This is Chickies front door.

    12 Vegas Lobby.jpg

Lots of people waiting to watch the infamous fountains. I even tried my worldwide feared Anus Gaseous Erupticitis to remove the crowds. Everyone just looked at me with disgust on their faces so I just turned to Chickie and scolded her.

    15 Vegas Fountain.jpg

Will post more when there is more.

Well, this is it... Randy gets to sing "Leaving Las Vegas" tomorrow. Racer's Edge successfully finished up his bike today. Randy took my truck and went to pay them for it then when I got home from work and fed my birdies, we hopped in my truck and got his bike. Racer's Edge was kind enough to leave his bike oot in the lot so we could get it after hours. We then came back home, so I could hop on my bike and we headed oot to Red Rock Canyon. We got there at 7:45 after the sun was pretty much gone, and they close at 8:00pm. So, I let Randy take the lead so he could pick oot where he wanted to take pics. His camera is really sweet, it picked up any light there could possibly be so he was able to get some decent pics. My phone was dead so I couldn't take any pics. You'll have to wait for Randy to upload his. On the way oot of the park, we had all sorts of birds and bugs flying in front of us, and Randy swears he almost hit a deer. I don't think there are any deer there, but we DO have wild burros and horses, so who knows what it was. We grabbed a bite to eat then came back.

Randy called Marrib to let him know of his potential arrival tomorrow and I overheard him starting to argue that he was going to be at Marrib's on Tuesday... I had to correct him and tell him that tomorrow was Wednesday. I think he doesn't believe me and still thinks today is Monday and he will be at Marrib's on Tuesday.... Marrib take good care of him, and make sure you give him plenty of beer so he can remember what day it is. I think my lack of drinking has caused him to feel awkward about drinking all the beer I bought for him. I think a couple beers at your hoose should straighten him oot!! :)

Thank you Randy for making me a stop on your route!! While I know it was longer than you planned, I was happy to have you here and I enjoyed your company!! Too bad we couldn't ride more!! See you in a few weeks at Reggie's!!

And, thank you Long for escorting the Prime Minister to my house and sharing your wonderful self with us. I wish you didn't have to go home so soon, but I understand. See you at Reggie's too... and I guess possibly a couple weeks after that...? I DID get your voicemail, and will call you... just been busy with work and this Crazy Canuck Prime Minister here!!

I know you're not leaving til tomorrow Randy, but have a safe trip! What a way to start your retirement!!

Randy, The Canuck, just departed the Casa headed to Palm Springs. I will post pics of the 'almost pulled over about a 100 times' trip from Phx to Prescott. Oh, its 95 out and he was willing to brave it. Crazy Canadians.

    So,

    Randy shows up

We do some boozin' on Wednesday night. Randy is a scotch fiend. But recovery is necessary for the Thurs ride. We head to Vulture Mine Road to Wickenburg.

He said he was smiling. I'm not so sure.

    Then lunch in Wickenburg.

We stopped off for some gas and to clean our helmets a bit. I was scared to death that the police we passed (going the other way) kinda, sorta fast was going to turn around and come talk to us. He turned his lights on right after we passed. We got the idea, "You boys slow it down!"

I got a little out infront of Randy so I pulled over and got a few pics of him learning the road from the car infront of him. That car must have been going a life threatening 32mph.

A nice stop in Prescott to chase the 300 year old Irish chick in the background.

And we looped it back home. But Randy had to leave the next day. If you haven't seen a motorcycle packed with 150lbs of storage containers... its a treat.

Then the crazy Canuck took off in 98 degree heat. He stole my right mirror (I found out later). But his ebay purchase of two mirrors showed up shortly afterwards. Nice timing Randy. I'll put the other one in the mail to R3 shortly.

    Thanks Marrib.

Spent a few days in Victorville visiting my American blood family before I meet with my American VFRW family. I had wanted to get a photo in front of one of those cactus but didn't get around to it. I have a few photos but not near as many as everyone else taking them of me. Thank you everyone. Would you mind sending them to me? I think my e-mail address is attached to my profile. Every one of you guys are welcome in my home if you ever venture up that way.

So left Victimsville today......in the mid day heat. Arrived in Pamona and checked into the KOA there and set up my itsy bitsy tent. Its quite a nice place here.

My brother and his son warned me about gang activity here and asked me if I had a gun. I don't need one. My hands are registered with the FBI, CIA, KGB, RCMP, M5, and Health and Welfare Canada as deadly weapons so they would be wise to stay the hell away from me.

Going to be my first experience in that single man tent. A little different than my 26 foot airconditioned fifth wheel I suspect. Christ, you have to unzip and slither out of that thing to change your mind. Would definately be an experience if I had a lot of burritos before going to bed if you get my drift.

So I am here for two nights then off to San Paulo until Sunday. Doing the KOA thing there too. At the Venture Ranch KOA. Anyone live near there? We could meet for a beer or something. But after two nights in this tent who knows. I might just check into a cheap sleazy hole in the ground. Then to San Diego.

BTW Crusty. I am expected to do stupid things cause I am an old codger.

Will post up my pix when I am at a better location and alone. Have to separate the tour pix from the porn.

    aSo I will try again.

Vegas was great: Some pix I took:

    17 Hover Dam Approach.jpg

    18 Hover Dam.jpg

This one was taken with a flash:

    21 Red Rock Canyon.jpg

This one same location and time without flash

    22 Red Rock Canyon.jpg

    23 rRed Rock Canyon.jpg

Las Vegas in the back ground

    26 Red Rock Canyon.jpg

Seems I am having difficulties here on this WiFi with downloading photos so I will etit this tomorrow with more pix.

Left Vegas. On the way to Phoenix to meet with Marrib. GPS took me along some highway and about 1 hour after I crossed the dam, I pulled over for a rest. When I got back on the bike, the damned GPS turned me around and had me back track. I mean what the hell?

Marrib took me on a ride through an area north (I think) of Phoenix. Actually, most of the time on this trip I really didn't have a clue where I was. We went out a couple nights to a couple local bars. First night was only a couple blocks from his place. Hell back in the day, I could have crawled home from there. Not that there was any reason why I would need to you understand. Three great nights with Marrib and I am off again. ANd it was hot. Was fine so long as I was moving but stop, and "I" rained. What I found really interesting about Phoenix and Vegas, was that it was hot as heel, you have a glass of ice and water, and no condensation will form on the outside of your glass. Now, just how weird is that? I didn't take nay pix in Phoenix but Marrib has take several and already posted them up.

Note to self. Get off the bike and take Photos.

Spent a few days with brother Rob in Victorville then headed out three days ago to Pamona KOA. Hot again. Thought it was going to be a longer ride but it was only a bit better than an hour. Washed the bike, cleaned the chain and changed the oil. After I put the oil in, I realized it was Motul 10W40. Not what I usually use. Anyone have concerns with that? Maybe I should drain it and put in some 5W40?

From here it is off to Pamona. Anyways, at Pomona KOA. Nice camp ground but two Railrailroad lines close by and I think the east bound and west bound had a contest to see who could make the most noise.

    28 Panoma KOA Check In.jpg

First time sleeping in my tent and bag. Has anyone here ever slept on a granite slab. I really slept a lot that night. Next day put and bought a blow up air mattress. Much better second night.

    29 Panoma KOA Site.jpg

This neat little restaurant, I found in down town Pamona. I think they said it has been in the family for three generations. Was a great place where the watresses seemed to know all the customers by their first names. Most got hugs when leaving. One of those old places that not only had booths, tables and chairs, but a counter you could belly up to for breakfast. And one of those thingys that the watress, clipped the order on, swung it around and hollered into the kitchen "Order Up" Good breakfast too. But for the most part, I was one of the younger ones in there this time. If ever there, they put on a good spread for breakfast.

    30 Pamona Roberta's Village Inn.jpg

Sports Bar across the road from the KOA. Went in there first night for supper and beer. Was good. Will come back tomorrow as it was close. Went back for lunch the next day. Very busy there with the Horse Racing buffs. Decent lunch. Back again at dinner time. Again the dinner was OK. But there were only about 3 or 4 people in there and it was kareokee night. Two people, guy and girl, kept grabbing the mic. It was painful. Left there in a hurry.

Glad that things are rolling along for you Randy. I'm enjoying the read.

I think you should be fine with the Motul 10W 40. That's what I run in my bike year round, whether its 35* or 95*. With the amount of riding your doing, sounds like it'll be changed in about 2 weeks anyway!

    Stay safe!

Seems the WiFi here will not allow me to upload larger photographs so I will have to wait until I get to another site to resume. I am not really that impressed with this KOA. I even paid extra for more than the alotted 1 hour a day.
