Personally I don't think a crash is inevitable but I do know there is a greater chance of getting hit by a car or other vehicle, especially here in California where most of us lane split. Everyday this week on the morning news there was a report of an accident involving a motorcycle! This week isn't an exception either, seems the summer months bring out more riders, temperatures rise and so do rider/driver tempers, so if I'm riding in that environment, you bet I'm ATGATT!

Leathers to go to work, or to the store and back, nope, armored jacket, boots, gloves, and at the very least Kevlar pants, most often with knee/shin armor strapped underneath are my minimum.

Some of the gear all the time, all the gear a lot of the time, here. Mesh jackets and cooling vests are good inventions. I wouldn't want to ride motorcycles if I worried about what I'm wearing as much as some do in every ATGATT thread on every forum I've ever been on.

I do find the latest trend with Harley Bagger dudes wearing the kind of cargo shorts that were cool a decade or so ago to be rather amusing. I don't know how they do it, I can't even push my bikes around my garage when I'm wearing shorts without burning myself.

I'll have to admit that if I drove in what passes for normal traffic in California I would be dressed to the nines. Too many cars, too many BDC, too many distracted drivers...just too many of everything on the road.

I ride 60 miles round trip, some mornings I don't put a foot down. 30 miles in under half an hour. I wear good gear, its still surprising how few bikes you see out on the roads though. Last time I counted one maybe, always looking out for bikes

Far out story about all the crashes that happen in CA...here we get the fatalities on the weekends at absurd hours, time we should be sleeping, not out on two wheels, but I am not preaching  :peace:
