No doubt, I got pics now but would rather wait and post the ones I take while it is at home Rather than the ones from in the bike dealers

Looking forward to seeing it so definitely get some pics up as soon as you can for all to see. I remember the night before I got mine. It was actually a few days before Christmas so that really added to the anticipation.

60 degrees there when you pick her up? That'll work! Taking a pretty good trip down south myself this weekend too to see some family. Friday, Sat and Sun the weather here is supposed to be 71, 73 and 76 degrees, respectively. Calm winds too so looking forward to good ride.

    Enjoy your new toy.

Don't know if anyone mentioned it but keep it above 3k RPM's. They don't like the lower R's.

That shouldn't be too much of an issue.

I decided last minute to not get it. Everything felt a little rushed and I wasn't completely sure if I wanted a sporty styled motorcycle. It was feeling like an "impulse buy" as opposed to what i really wanted. I didn't go to the bike dealer looking specifically for this bike. I went to check out 2 others. A 2006 Victory Vegas, and 2005 yamaha yzf. the yzf had an excellent price and was something that i wanted 15 years ago. As low as that price was, the price was still above blue book. I did not like the Vegas model victory and i knew that already. I am not a fan of the tall skinny tire on the front and would prefer the Victory Hammer or the new Gunner. I appreciate the performance numbers of the VFR, but i do prefer the cruiser look. I figure that some kind of "tweener", muscle cruiser or standard bike would be more to my liking. I did finally replace my gear that was damaged, so I will go on some demo days and test rides before deciding what is the right bike.

Sounds like the right decision for you. You'll have other opportunities if you decide to buy a VFR later. BTW, I appreciated your input here - the pros and cons and what kind of riding you enjoy. For my part, I like Indians - very cool motorcycles with great fit and finish - but I decided I didn't want one because I don't "need' one. You don't "need" a VFR right now. Same difference.

I am a fan of Indian also, the scout and the chief dark horse are nice. Perhaps a scope is on my future, but I would prefer to purchase used. Outside of victory, I'm looking at the m109, m90, and the warrior (since a used vmax is impossible to get)

A lot of bikers buy something and are miserable, and are immediately tasked with selling the bike, losing money, and trudging through the process again. It is nice to see an introspective person with restraint.

@badbilly, no Harley for me, I hate being one of the masses. Besides, I can't buy inferior quality just to have a name brand label. Thanks@knight. I've been through 2 bikes before, my first was a shadow 750, which I very quickly outgrew, I have to do my homework, I can't afford a mistake. If I make one, I'm stuck. I'd prefer to be with the one I love rather than trying to love the one I'm with.

    Maybe a Goldwing then?

Speaking of homework, Knightdood is a one bike wonder and all that "advice" is not much more than regurgitating almost verbatim from posts here and on another forum dealing with VFRs.

Also, a romantic interest in a motorcycle is a bit strange. To that end:

    I love my Harley Davidson
I love it like my life
    I love to lubricate it
And grease it down real good
I'd really like to fuck it
    Oh would that I could.

Some trivia aboot Stephen Stills and Easy Rider:

Stephen Stills wrote the song "Find the Cost of Freedom" at Dennis Hopper's request, for use with the final scene (when the camera pans up into the sky). Hopper ended up not using it, and the song was eventually released as the B-side to Crosby Stills Nash & Young's single "Ohio". CSNandY often used it to close their concerts.

Have you converted? Are we going to lose you? Are you going over to the dark side? I am praying for you.
