Great characters and a fine ensemble on the cast of Cheers. John Ratzenberger is a class guy and was very in on creating as well as acting the Cliff character.

Moi? Highschool Spanish, one semester of college Latin, Had a Jesuit for a teacher. Booked out of that gig and took the remaining seven semesters in Spanish. I lived in Guadalajara for about 13 months. I get along but am not fluent. One of my profs who was a native speaker told us that someone fluent would know the words that emulate the sounds that critters in the zoo make. Yale has a total immersion course in several languages based on the US Army language school in Monterey. Home of Zorro and many squid especially around race time. LOL

More like a pie fight than an argument. An argument has rules and boundaries. This dude got took and you might have to play dentist to extract anything from him except more whining.

Virtual as well as literal..and the food sucks..

Where s the pic, Willy? YOU said you would take it and post it, did you not? Instead you keep referring to a 2.5 year-old single gallery pic that you probably pirated from an overseas VFR Forum and claimed it as your own. but all is not lost, William. I will close this discussion with some nudity for you; I'm sure this is the closest you've come in a long, long, long time to getting some :bootyshake2:

Have you ever considered writing real fiction? Some of the major benefits are that you can make the characters say anything you wish, organize the plot and distinguish the good guys from the bad guys. These mini-docudramas are killing you.

If that animation is an anatomical representation then I must assume you don't have a hair on your ass. I would suggest one of those clubs or websites that cater to that particular form of adult fun and games. Maybe you can do a tradeout for your wheel and hopefully a correctly sized valvestem.

I was thinking of a really neat riposte that I read in Playboy years ago. Guy goes in for a job interview. The interviewer asks the guy
if he is gay. The guy says "Rather than answer your question directly, let me have an hour with your wife and she can tell you." He didn't mention porkers though. I would have.

In another place and time I heard an interview from yet another rock group who were asked about what kind of girls they liked. They said, "We like the fat ones because they'll do anything."

All a matter of taste I suppose.

Finally, a post from you with a kernel of truth in it. Yes, I can picture you reading Playboy (of course, while holding the magazine in one hand-I'm sure the other hand was quite busy). As I said, I'm sure it's been a very, very, very long time.

Regardless, you continue to dodge the main issue, that being the photo. Where is it, Willy? You took up the challenge and failed to deliver. And please don't use the words "poker" or "porker" in any more of your posts; every time you do all the domesticated farm animals in your area start looking over their shoulders again.

Better believe it! No Oedipus complex here. There is a site with pix of all the Playmates since day one. Between that and the mental pictures you are having of me, I suggest a cold shower. I'm afraid somehow your signals have become mixed. Maybe Cyberg is interested in a little touchie feelie..

Would it be easier for you to post just exactly what "that challenge" was and how I "failed to deliver" at the cost of this droning on in hope that someone might start in the middle or thereabouts in this and shoot you the sympathy vote. I would post what I said again but I think everyone got it but you. Or, you really need some help with these control issues. Bad juju to try that on the net and especially a bike forum.

I think you would like to believe, as a take charge kind of dude, that I was going to break down my set up, reprogram my camera, change lens', haul my ass out to the cold shop and take photos of my bike for your entertainment to make your story gel, don't believe it. Ain't gonna happen. Try not to take it out on your dog or cat. Get a punching bag, take deep breaths, take one of your meds with warm water, Send the wife and kids to grandmas for awhile. Have a fantasy or two and call me in the morning. Don't go riding either and alcohol is not the answer. Well, maybe a Bud Light or two would be OK. You seem a Bud Light kind of dude. A couple of those and some pix of those Bud Girls and you should feel much better.

If I could enlist your help when and if you gather yourself and are back in some control, I am seeking a reasonably good analogy of what a broken record is to a CD. Try to be creative. I am nearing my threshold of boredom with you as we speak. I don't think this will save you from your own devices but it could be theraputic.

So who do you prefer in media, Hannity or Limbaugh? Another item since you are forthcoming with all this information and insight, did you vote for GWB both times?

To address your points (?) in descending order...

Ah yes, Cyborg, another fan of yours; How did he refer to you in his initial post? Something about you "crawling back out from under your rock again"? Your reputation amongst the forum members precedes you, William...

Good William, I'm sorry to have inconvenienced you; I didn't realize that you were the only forum member not in possession of a simple digital camera; apparently you have a device left over from the days of flash powder and black shrouds...Setting down your knitting for a moment and walking (sashaying?) out to your imaginary workshop to snap a quick pic of your imaginary bike is a task you are clearly not up to...

Bitter still, William, over the failure of Dennis Kucinich to secure the party's nomination? Take heart, I hear Nader is going to give it another shot...I do understand your frustration with the GOP, though; their anti-gay marriage platform plank must have you and your domestic partner quite envious of heterosexuals. Run along now Willy, you musn't miss the Golden Girls Marathon on the Oxygen channel...

I give up. Has the valve stem been repaired? I might have missed that part somehow.

Great to hear from a rational being again. I'm waiting on a stubby valve stem from Honda. None of the aftermarket retailers (NAPA, CarQuest, etc.) had one in stock and neither did the dealer. Just FYI, the VFR (at least on the 6th Gens) apparently needs a shorter than typical stem in order to clear the caliper assembly; keep that in mind if you ever find yourself with a leaking stem, as I did. Just out of curiousity, I'm going to go take a look at my '96 and see if it's the same situation.

As far as the dealer goes, they expect me to pay for the +/- $15 for the OEM stem, less a couple bucks credit for the wrong one they installed. I debated this with them but got nowhere. The Service Manager was actually a decent guy but said that the owner gives him no flexibility and of course he's mostly retired now and living in FL during the winter months so I can't complain to him directly. The SM even said he was breaking the owner's rules by ordering the valve stem with out my pre-paying! The industry richly deserves its general reputation for crappy customer service...

My dealings with this shop in my younger days were what led me to stop going there other than for tire mountings. I would love to buy a bead-breaker/balancer set up for the home work shop but you're looking at around $600 or so for a quality set-up. I pay $40 per tire now for mount/balance so at one set of tires per year I'm looking at a 7.5 year payback period; I just can't justify it.

Was enjoying the back and forth racing, but now it appears that the contenders have left the track completely and have decided to make it a TT race through the streets. Competition becoming very heated, block passes, reaching over and grabbbing the others brake lever, crazy stuff. Badbilly with a early lead, but Maine has suddenly made it too close a race to call. Winter forum racing at its best.

    >> Kucinich? Naaa. Nader ran last time too. Nader you must admit, has a good soul and he does really well working the system. My feelings about the GOP run much deeper than what you superficially call frustration. I can understand your use of the term since I am more and more convinced that you really are not very smart and certainly lack sophistication on many fronts. We must assume that by employing the skittering out through the crack under a rear door device, you did vote for ol GubbaWubbaBubba & crew both times.. LOL Not to worry. It is difficult to find anyone who did for some reason..A smart operator would have just brushed the question aside with a much better dodge.

Never watched that show much but if it is still in syndication, I sure wish I had a piece of that action too.

Did I wish you an eventful winter hiatus yet?

Since it is 7:08 am in your part of the universe and you probably just awakened I will cut you some slack but really William, I expected a better reply. Go brew some morning Joe, grab your NY Times Sunday edition from last week, stare blankly again with futility at its difficult crossword puzzle and then come back with a better effort. Holiday greetings to you, also.

Agreed. The owner exhibits the business-practices arrogance that comes with having a near-monopoly on the area mc market. He has both the local H-D store and 10 miles away he has the Hon/Kaw/Suz/Yam/CanAm (Spyder) dealership, not to mention his snowmobile/ATV lineup. The closest real competitor is a small, stand-alone Suzuki shop 20 miles west.

Let's run this one through the sequence just for fun.

Are you saying this shop known for sloppy work and bad service did not add a charge for dismounting the wheels on the bike you rode there? Another question is did you buy your tires from this outfit too?

A quick look at the tire manufacturers website would show you or this outfit proper and yep, safe fitment of the valvestem in question.

To riding.. This service manager is riding you like a guy in a fag bar with not much on but a pair of those open at the crotch chaps and one of those black leather Greek fishermans hats. I hope at least the chaps are black. Pink is out.

Bro, this outfit is putting the hustle on you and you are buying the pitch bigtime. What has transpired is that you are so focused on being in charge here you have totally lost sight of the main issue. This shop put your life at risk. All that had to happen was for that long valvestem to smack that caliper perch enough to cause loss of tire pressure and you would put the skin side down not the rubber side. In that cold there had to be ice on the road someplace in your return (60 mile ride??) to wherever you were headed. You lowside and some chica or dude BSing on a cell phone or a truck with a load slams on the binders on an icy surface and who wins? Not you.

Bike up on lift-wheels removed- usual sequence is rear wheel first- front wheel follows-bead breaker to both wheels- old tires off wheels. new tires mounted-new tires and wheels on either dynamic or static balancer-wheels refitted on bike. ...Then pally, the bike comes off the lift and no matter which direction the bike is going all it takes in one revolution of that rear wheel to detect something ain't right. They didn't check and neither did you. They fucked up and your ego as heroic, in charge, sexually repressed, media wonk got in the way.

If you are smart and I am doubting that more and more, the guy you need to talk to is this outfits attorney of record or even better if you have one, your own lawyer. If you don't have a lawyer, hunt up the meanest SOB you can find and maybe if you are half smart, a lawyer who rides not for the tax writeoff, but for the joy of riding. A tip if you do seek legal council. Don't try to BS the guy he will ask you many questions and the minute he catches you making up shit you will either get a deserved ass chewing for lying or will be shown the door.

In another fuckup, you didn't take one of your famous snapshots of that long stem smacking the caliper perch did you?

Two things and then I am done with you for your own sake. If you pay for that correct valvestem and any charge that I suspect they are going to try to add, you are toast. Sort of like cashing a check. Contract complete.

This is just one of the many definitions of negligence. The entire area is a study but even a dimwit should be able to follow this one.

"Doctrine of negligence rests on the duty of every person to exercise due care in his conduct toward others from which injury may result."
