    Interesting that your stator failed, mine did too! And the connector was melted & crisp.
    (Bought my 1993 new, have been riding it ever since)
    Have been through two regulator/rectifiers as well (now I carry a spare, guaranteeing it will never fail again)
    Otherwise the bike has been bulletproof!
