    Don't run cheapo oil in it, that Honda oil is junk

    Well what I'm hoping is that the while you were braking it in and the rings hadn't seated yet, it ate up some oil and now the rings are seated properly, you're good. Well see, good luck.

    Have a mate who had a K1300S that burnt 1ltr oil per 1600kms from new, on tour we used to joke that he needed a support oil tanker following or at gas stops he'd need to check the petrol and fill up his oil.

    It settled down at about 12,000 kms to a reasonable 1/2 litre per 1,600kms, mind my 16yro 83K km VFR doesn't drop at all between its 6,000km oil changes.
