    Try sending this:

    "Saw your CL ad for the VFR750.....one of my fav. Interceptors of all time! Yours looks to be in really good condition! Hard to find 'em like that for sale. I'm willing to pay your full asking price and can bring cash. This is not a scam. I only live 20 miles away in (insert town here). I already own several other VFR 2nd Gens. Please call me so we can set up a time to meet. (insert your number). Thanks, Rogue."

    Keep us posted...if he doesn't respond to that then screw him....:)

    Well I got to check it out. It is pretty clean. He did replace the right side fairing with a 700 fairing, thus the missing 750.
    Looks like most of the panels fit well. Some cracking and the left side was paint pen repairs from a light down. Kind of a bummer. I didn't check under the seat, but the rear cowl and the rest looked well cared for and original.

    The 4-1 Kerker is noice sounding. Kinda open track like. Wheels were powder coated so all new bearings. Although he didn't clean the wheels. Grrr
    Would need a little carb work. His idle was set too low and the choke pretty much didn't work. Not sure if a full removal but at least some tune up.

    Tires and chain were pretty fresh I think. I didn't have my glasses so I couldn't see the date code...grr

    Fuel tank was about as good as I have seen up close. Not perfect but real nice. IMG_7631.JPG VFR3.JPG IMG_7634.JPG VFR7.JPG VFR8.JPG

    I would put this in the clean, but needs more TLC to make amazing. I don't have any money for more bikes since we are building a new 3 car steel building to house our vehicles. lol
    I basically traded a VFR400 for concrete. boo sort of.. :(

    More notes. Side cases still had all of the original textured powder coating, forks were not pitted or leaking. It is the original suspension and it is 0000386 VIN

    Nice report - especially the pics!

    Thanks, Rogue!

    I feel ya about the money. My Viffer budget was done BEFORE I bought that VF500F!

    Your post confirms though my original gut feeling - his asking price for that bike in that condition is not unreasonable.

    ========

    Curious what the guy's demeanor was on selling. Did you get the feeling he had any wiggle room on the asking price?

    Also....what did he say about offers so far and what others said to him on the sale. You know....besides the old "Wow what a great bike - just gorgeous!"

    ========

    Again - thank you for the followup! ;)

    There was a little wiggle room and he only wants to sell. My wife asked why I looked and I guess mainly to help out one of you. I would have been interested a few years ago, but I just don't have the budget to maintain this many bikes in Cali. 6 on current reg and insurance. I have to choose carefully anymore. This wouldn't be a great flipper, but it would be a good collection bike. :)

    OK thanks.

    I hear ya....I have more than 6 bikes on reg.....plus a bunch of cars, my work truck, two trailers, and a freaking boat! What is saving me money is having a Hagerty classic car policy for most of my stuff.

    I need to improve on my storage situation. Paying for two large storage units sucks.

    I've never even rode an RC24 but have heard they are amazing, so maybe one day when I get my situation in a better place.

    Thanks again for making the effort - really enjoyed your posts on this bike! ;)
