   watch out for starting fluid as it can destroy slide diaphragms and has other ill effects.

   Are you sure the fuel is getting to the cylinders? you mentioned the fuel pump working, but is it getting to the cylinder ?
   
   it may be worth removing the airbag lid and squirting a little fuel into the carb throats to see if it will at least fire.
