This should explain how this works all

    Hey

Read this:http://users.rcn.com/kochc/moto/spark/ig_repair.html and did you put the starter clutch right in and is the mesure between the pulse genators and starter clutch right .Another question I have now found out that my clutch is bad I mean BAD (friction disc are 2,8 mm or 1,098 inch the wear limit is 3,1mm or 1,2 inch. Now when my bike is in neutral or I driving and pull the clutch lever it makes the rattle noise (like you put stones in a barrel and role it down a hill) could this be beacause of the clutch is so bad or is this so called clutch outer housing split gear he is the one you holds the pressure to the gears when the clutch opens and what does he look like have just read about him in the manual.Final I forgot to buy the spring should he be changes or is it just a good idea.

    Best regards

    Gunnar

the 2 cylinders firing first, then all 4, is normal. sounds like a weak ground or loose wire in the blinker set up. when replacing or looking at clutch problems, did you take apart the left hand electrical component? possibly pinched a blinker slelector wire.

Thanks guys and no electrical wires were touched or removed when doing previous work.
Gunnar, that is an excellent reference for the ignitor electrics and at the moment the bike is at a mechanics to be looked at. Will let you know how I get on.

By the way Gunnar, I couldn't get a new clutch spring from Honda when I fitted the new clutch and all is well without replacing mine. The plates and frictions were all stuck together with the old oil and were a mess. As soon as I fitted the new plates and frictions all is great with the clutch.

    Hey

If you have a manual you can mesure the pulse genarator mine is another place now but I will get in the morning. But I think it was 490 ohms you should mesure the genarator coils. The ohm mesure ment needs be accurate. But if you don“t have a manual I will write it in tomorrow the gap and the ohm mesurement for the pulse genarators.

    Best regards

    Hey

Forgot to tell you that I noticed one more problem or not I am not sure. "Now when my bike is in neutral or I driving and pull the clutch lever it makes the rattle noise (like you put stones in a barrel and role it down a hill) could this be beacause of the clutch is so bad or is this so called clutch outer housing split gear he is the one you holds the pressure to the gears when the clutch opens and what does he look like have just read about him in the manual" mechanish side is not so clear to me like the electrican side is.

    Best regards

I had this problem. Its one of three possibilities.

Eiter your Idle is set too high, and when you shift into gear, its not an easy slip into the tooth of the drum,

    OR

Your first or second gear shift arm has some damage on it, and its rounded off.

    OR

You still have some air bubbles in your clutch system, they are in the tubing, and are simply foating back and forth inside the tubing... eventually they will make their way to the Banjo bolt at the top, near the master cylinder resivoir and you can bleed them out.

Sruss67 your ignition box's are in the tail section and the connectors can get wet at times. Over the years the contacts can oxidize and make a bad connection. If the bike fires on two then four, I would suspect either the box it's self or the connection. Take the connections apart and clean them with an electronic clear like Deoxit. Do this to the pulse generator connections also. Plus check the coils. These are the easy cheap way to go first. Actually all the connections on the bike will do this and give you intermittent problems. That could be the case here.

When I had my bike apart this winter I sprayed all my connectors with Deoxit. You can find it in guitar (music) stores or any good electronic/stereo stores. Great stuff.

Well greyvf you were spot on and that is where the issue was. A loose connection at the spark/ignition box. Loose wire that pulled out when the bars turned was the indicator issue.
Now I am going to ride the VF for a while and enjoy :)
