Mine was the same I fitted a speedo healer, but then as everyone else has the error, you end on in traffic wondering why everyone else is NOT riding/driving at the limit !

Can anyone recommend an affordable gps with speedometer?

I don't really want a gps but it would be nice to know how fast I'm going.
Last weekend went all the way at 83 in a 70 and I wasn't passing too many cagers.

Saw a gps speedo on ebay for $100 but doubt the quality. Craigslist had nothing.

For interest (must have been a rainy weekend) I worked my way through the gearing difference between the 5th and 6th. They have the same primary ratio, the different final ratios mentioned above, but some quite different internal ratios in the gearbox. Based on revs vs road speed, my conclusions are that the 6th gen has shorter 1st gear, bigger gap to 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th about same, bigger gap to 6th. 6th gear is identical between years. 6th gen bike would feel perkier off the line but 98 would feel better through the gears. Top gear roll-on would be the same (assuming identical power outputs, which I admit is an assumption only).
