What kind of vacuum gauges do you need for the syncing the starter valves? my buddy has some old style vacuum gauges, not sure which kind or make they are. Last time I saw them used was to balance the carbs on a ST1100, wonder will they work on the vfr?

A vac gauge is a vac gauge

Just the adaptors you might need to sort out

I bought a set of el cheapo ones from chi-na only had 5mm adaptors, had to make 4 x 4mm ones to fit the VF, don’t matter what they read, just as long as they all point the same direction

Not sure that is gona solve your problem, the way I understand/look at it is if it is like synchronizing my carburetors, that is only good for just a CH off throttle and low speed operation - general idling around town (leaving your pad around the neighborhood.) Once your off that spot, upper rev zone etc, it does'nt matter if your carburetors/starter valves are synchronized to perfection (like mine are : ) I could be wrong and don't profess to know what the Fu*k I am doing (self taught with stealership thrown in for gud measure.) This is what I use https://www.carbtune.com/

They are another type of vac gauge, as long as they all sit at the same level all is good

The idea is if the butterflies are in sync at tick over they will be right through the rev range

I don’t know enough to say if it will fix you running issues or not, but anything is worth a try,

But as it has a FPR it must be fuel injection anyway, I would see if you can borrow your mates fuel pressure regulator, see if that fixes it

We'll see, I'll start with the starter valve scync. Hopefully I'll get her running right eventually.

I posted on another thread that I just discovered one of the starter valve sync tubes was disconnected from the airbox, so hoping that this vacuum leak was the cause of the bike running rough,
I have set the idle at 1200rpm with bike well warmed up, but the rev needle does fluctuate a bit, is this normal?
