I have a 1999 VFR800, and I just bought the Cortech Sport tail and saddlebag combo. It mounts up great, and the quality is top notch. However, I have noticed that the rear straps that clip the tail bag to the saddlebags is going to rub the paint on the tail section and in short time will ruin the paint. Since it is a straight forward setup and mounting on these bikes, I am sure some of you have run into this. What suggestions do you have, or what have you used to fix this since it is really the only way/location to mount these straps? I can post pics if that would help so you can see what I am talking about.

    Thanks in advance.

My fieldsheer came with these straps (see photo) which help to reduce rub marks. I would try some clear tape, or if you are really serious, some 3m.

put on some GIVI hardbag mounts and let the bags and straps rub against the mounts rather than your bodywork.
