I can honestly say that I don't ride any of my bikes to 100% of its capability.. I know myself as a novice rider, even after two decades of riding motorcycles.
I know I can come close on the track, but on public streets, there is no need to mod any bike to beyond your riding capabilities..
Sure it's fun to think that all the $$ you spent on your bike to max out its performance.. but in reality, none of us can barely use 50% of its stock capabilities on the street... ain't that the truth?

How about the efficiency of the engine to run cooler and get better gas mileage and last longer?

I'll throw some fuel on the fire...again. I can and I'd like to believe a few other will agree, Why Honda decided to take the VFR down the road they did has me going WTF....they took a great platform and massaged it into something that was, I suppose to be generic for the masses. BEAN COUNTER HAPPY? Yet when you go back, the 86 VFR was a hit so why not now? SMH IDK. Then when you look at all the feed back from here and there regarding a new sport VFR, we for the most part are glad to hear it, but No, it's all a bunch of here say. Then what does Honda do , make a $189K machine, Go figure, personally though the engine in the 5th gen is a tad more in line to performance minded, the chassis of the 4th gen was the BEST IMHO..now as far as the 5th being the best Mmm, I won't go that far.. LOL it has linked brakes and wimpy suspension out of the crate. Luck for us that know, we know how to get around those stumbles. Lets not throw the 1200 into the mix.

Do you think exhaust mods allow engine to run cooler and get better gas mileage and last longer than OEM?

5th gen VFR are already 13-17 y-o.. how much longer would you like them to last?

IME, efficiency as in fuel consumption has more to do with how I choose to ride than which exhaust system I use.

Cooler running is easily attributed to richer AFR from the power commander and less heat radiating from the catalyst that is no longer present.

Lol at second snorkel. If anything, the second snorkel is posing a restriction at higher revs, where the flap would open up, causing a richer AFR and power loss, resulting in cooler operating.

The german ECU is laughable, as it was determined to be a low output(rated 98 crank hp vs 106 for the same year US model) /high emissions regulations ECU.

Further LOLs at your unnecessary attack at sixth gen owners.

Factory Power Unleashed or something like that, it's still a viable body of knowledge just keep it mind it was under almost constant attack by V-Tech belt-head rats who ultimately made up a big story to the forum moderator to close it down because it was giving too much favorable attention to the gear driven cam crowd so the folks with inferiority complex rubber band driven cams got all together and belly ached and whined until the moderator rolled over

Oooo, LOL ya think just maybe, it could have been just the way you type up what you do? you're lacking a bit of tack, I can read around it, some won't be able and find it rude. just saying. Most 6th gen owners appreciate the 5th gen, so I wouldn't be so hard to judge. Now add in the fact that Honda has what 11 years with that version IDK. Seems to me you've made this approach to personal. On another note, if you look at the demographics of the 6th gen owners, a good part of them don't even know of the 5th gen, till after the fact, so of coarse the 6th gen gets more attention. Just is, doesn't make it better, or worse, just evolution working it's way. and of coarse Opinions like ass holes, every one has one. ;)

Except you don't know or have a shred of evidence or any physical facts or figures from actually riding the bike and I have and just be prepared for a big DynoTech suprise

Mmm, are you directing that comment to me? If so, or whom ever you don't know me nor them. I'd be careful where you're putting your toe, whether it's me or not. You haven't a clue to what I know or what I've seen and done. Nor anyone else for that matter. I get you know what you know, is cool, but don't go assuming you're the only one that's in the know. It's that thinking right there that comes across you're just full of yourself and looking to boost your ego. I've been around your type before, so go ahead throw your stuff, it won't stick. Karma in this case could be funny. Next!

Apparently you have no experience trying to install a fully welded exhaust. The only thing wrong with a Delkevic exhaust is that they could have improved on the collector. And, truth be told, if we have enough interest, Delkevic already said they would make a full flow collector. Group buy anyone?

Having just "read" this thread... maybe that should get its own. I've determined that this one is going to end up 20 pages, mostly from three posters bickering about some shit that has nothing to do with mods and upgrades.

It's been budgeted for Jan or Feb at Perrys Performance in Dublin GA. It's a low priority item that gets done at the end because will only add about 3 whp. Since I have seen this bike go 155 mph I'm thinking it's already got around 105 whp now

I roll my eyes and shake my head at the same time, Really!? When it come to the header 90% are made for stock replacement and are, other than SS, aren't worth the trouble, IMO. If and when I'm going to go to the trouble, it better be worth it. It's bad enough to get the old header off, then re fit another is truly is a work of patience. Well Doh! Reason for the multi slip together is for assembly ease. Like we don't know that one. TBros and Erion did this and it worked just fine. This style has been used for years with fair results. In our VFR case, you do not want a fully welded up piece. I'd hate to think what APITA that would be. Here's a peek the direction I'm going. aprilia-rsv4-arata-exhaust-4.jpg
