you and me both. like anyone in minneapolis needs suspension this time of the year! Ok, so I'm gonna tentaively say I'll come to WA first. I'm gonna look at the calendar and start blocking off time soon. I'll keep it posted here so we can get this going. I'm already working on a luggage deal with brian. I think he has some extra for 5g that he bought. Jake may or may not be here and might want to come. Terri said she wanted to come last year so she might come this year (or she might just drive up to norcal for part of the trip). We'll see.

I've done several "fly 'n rides" and they end up being the very best riding gigs. I did the NorCal once and have been aching to do it again. I'll have to see how things are in the bucks department.

That is Hwy 96 and the Klamath River follows it most of the way

If it is hwy. 96, then it's the Klamuth river. The Trinity is alongside hwy. 3

I'm in if I can find the time and the $$!

Especially the WA part - I'm fairly new to the Pacific Northwet, and have explored a fair amount of OR, but only a bit of WA.
Any WA members care to sponsor me to sleep over if necessary?

I used to live in Sacratomato for about 10 years, and explored much of NoCal on my FJ1200 with my girlfriend (now wife).
I would love to see some old familiar roads (36?!?), although it would take more time and money.

I'll watch this thread, but I'm a Definite Maybe!

Perhaps a contingent of us OR/WA riders can ride down together?

Damn, with this weather we are having now, it's good to have something to look forward to. Yes Rat, I'll have to arrange a meet some where on Wind River Rd.

When Reg comes to Washington my home will be open to any VFR rider, Depending on how long Reg stays in Washington, I plan on showing him Mt. Baker/Neah Bay/Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helen's if you care to ride along. As far as riding back to Northern California, Me & Reg will be about 20 minutes from your house on the way back to NorCal...

Just to give you an idea on the expense of the 2007 trip for me.

    1. Gas- 1800 miles and went through 41 gallons = $123.00

    2. Lodging- 3 nights with roommates was $100.00

    3. Food & alcohol came to $ 120.00

    4. Strip Club-$ 25.00

    Hey Greg,

was just thinking of you the other day when I saw a post about riding out to Pine Mtn. I wasn't able to go on the ride so I didn't e-mail you about it. What kind of schedule are you working anyway? I need to get more miles in. I might ride out there to see where you live... I could crash on your couch right? ;)

you might want to budget more for the stripe<--- club, though if you expect a lape dance. hehe Are we gonna do 3 days/nights again? Are you gonna come on down to the central coast? Depending on that, we might reroute a little to finish up on the west coast and cruise all the way down hwy 1 for all the scenery to post up to make everyone drool that backs out again. ;)

Reggie, my new days off will be wednesday and thursday, starting January 9th. It's a little cold here right now, this morning at 0700 it was 23 degrees in my driveway. Had to scrape the windows for the first time this year. You are welcome here anytime, buddy.

Ok. so the leave request is in. My tentative plan is to leave Atascadero early am and make at least Yreka before stopping for the night. That puts me into WA on the next day in the afternoon. I expect the beer to be chilled but not too cold. I'll either text or call so you know when to fire up the grill. ;) So once I'm there we start in on your gameplan around WA on the 3rd day. Let's see it and we'll keep workin this around and get rough times of when we'll be where for stragglers to jump in.

**MODERATOR NOTE** The dates have changed since this originally was posted. Follow thread to end before planning.

With that time frame here is a rough idea of what we could do, I was also thinking I might meet you in N Oregon around Rat's area and ride Verona/Mist and Hwy 53 on the 21st to leave us more options...

    Tuesday July 22- Mt Baker
    Wednesday July 23- Mt. Rainier
Thursday July 24- Mt St. Helen's/Wind River
    Friday July 25- Hwy 53/Mist/Rowena
    Saturday July 26- Fossil/Crater Lake/Yreka
Sunday July 27- Hwy 96 to Eureka
Monday July 28- Hwy 36 to either Redding or Weaverville
Tuesday July 29- Hwy 3 to Yreka
    Wednesday July 30- Go Home

Going to have to keep an eye on this. Laguna's my first priority this year though. Maybe I'll zip up a day or two after.

I was thinkin, I may just pack up and start the trip at Laguna and head up north after the race. Definitely be plenty of other riders on the road. Might be interesting... Starting there makes Oregon a little more doable in one day... You thinkin of goin all the way or just jumping in on the norcal parts?

Would be cool to jam right after Laguna. Whatever happens, gotta be back on the 27th. Just means I need to be within 8 or 900 miles of home on the 26th.
