I'm sure they watch this and many other forums. I know some of my clients watch forums on bussiness they are involved in. They also use viral advertising videos on youtube.

I think they look ok but the gen 6's definitely look better. I was going to try and get my hands on a set of 2014 wheels until I saw that they are 5 lug. It's too bad because those babys are sweet!

    Just a thought.....

Honda traditionally prefers to "parts bin" engineer their bikes whenever possible rather than completely retooling when updating a new model.

I wonder if it would be as simple as swapping out the 4 lug rear axle and installing a 5 lug rear axle in order to run that new 2014 rear rim on the older model bikes? :mech:

Actually I think this will be my next bike in one or 2 years, I dont need more power on the road than the 800 makes the only thing I wish Honda would listen to us on is to get rid of is the unnecessary and overcomplicated for little gain hyper VTEC to make servicing cheaper and simpler for owners.

The first few reports by the MC press will be nearly glowing. The settings for the "official" debut of new wheeled toys is usually a racetrack in some really great part of the world. The press guys get wined and dined and get to ride a couple of laps on a bike that may have been through the line 3 or 4 times, then waxed and polished and triple checked by the factory dudes under the guidance of the PR and factory sales dudes.

If the press guys say stuff that is too negative in the opinion of the manufacturer they get their hands slapped by not getting invited to the next unveiling. Also, word gets around to the other manufacturers because the press guy snitch each other out so the more junior dudes can climb up the ladder for the free shit.

The whole doggy and horsey show is geared to selling bikes and not much more.

This is not limited to bikes and cars by a long shot. Another is the fashion industry including bike stuff and the ever increasing popular assless/crotchless chaps now in the new Spring colors.

The bike looked great and the dude riding it was fast and and smooth. What we didn't see was the camera vehicle, the support team and the prop department and casting that put the other bike on the side of the road in one sequence and the dude on the bicycle riding in the middle of the road who didn't even glance at the guy on the Honda doing over the double nickel..

IMO that stretch or road was rented or arrangements were made to have use of it for the filiming. Notice the single white stripe in the middle of the roadway... Anybody know where they do that in some desert clime?

Slick piece and a great bike.. Like John from down under points out, maybe the real time to start looking for one is in a couple of years.

Thought it looked familiar - that is the minor road north through Buscot Spain (CV-773 Busot, Alicante, Spain) which looks like it has been resurfaced and had a heap of safety barriers added since I was last there - it needed it.

The location would be pretty ideal for the PR people to ship in a plane load of journalists to the nearby airport at Alicante, and as it almost never rains, would be a safe bet to use for test runs especially in the quiet period before the main tourist season.

    Thank-you Sir!

Maybe the road was rented from DORNA who for enough money will sell anyone anything. When Honda Inc. is paying the tab, they go first class.

Even the white stripe looked freshly done.

Well well, what do we have here, Hmm a second base hit instead of a home run. Good to hear Honda has brought back (some sense) but man so close, dump the vtec or make it really bad (type-R). gear cams please. But the one thing they really missed is the suspension, should have and brakes too pulled the ones off the 600rr. but maybe it's a step in the right direction, too soon to tell, like some have said, wait a couple years. Guess they are coming state side so the dealer here says, that and we know we can believe these guys right? http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/bikes/2014-honda-interceptor-vfr-800/ We all know red is fastest, but man have to say that white one is pretty sweet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQKmPpKOWgk

    Still for $13k ???????????

Seen and sat on one of these at my local dealership, seating position feels slightly more upright, tank is smaller but avg mpg is quoted as much better. I'll upload the pics I took when I get home

Look at that, Sweet , that white one is starting to sink in. speaking of white, Honda should have gone one more and added the white face tach.

I understand that the two main weight-savers are the single muffler and a single crosswise radiator. I wonder if the conventional front-facing radiator will cool better in slow traffic. I don't think the side radiators get much air flow until above 40 MPH or so.

Yeah it should be better although the rad is now where the belly pan meets the side panel down the bottom, presumably to keep it away from the cylinder head still, but should be better than the side mounted rads
