well, while I am thinking the all you can drink is an incentive, I still have to fall back on the fact that I'll be riding to and from the hotel... this is an important consideration in the price factor vs beer intake...

    that's the rub, allright.......

in the past I'd hit it pretty hard at Breakfast (!) then have to coast until i left.

on sunday I'll ride back to the house via the PCH after the races, so I really do have to take it easy that day.

    still a good time......

WHOA, sorry lefty. I somehow missed your other post about the price you already mentioned. Thats good enough for me for the moment. Didn't mean to be so impatient.

    HAHA!
    No sweat.
I just figgered you hear that all day long, so it just popped right out!
how much is it? how much is it? how much for that? that's HOW much???

I found the old brochure & it confirmed that last year Hospitality started at $350.
I would like to find out how many we need to get a deal on tix. Maybe we get a group from VFRW & put up a sign....have some fun!

If you start saving now & put 10 bux a week in a piggy bank, you'd about have the trip covered.

    stay tuned........

Aren't they still running the free shuttles from downtown to the track? I did that in '07.

BTW, I might be interested in this package too if you're putting a group buy together.

    2010 MotoGP Laguna Seca scoop

    This is the place

For those who have not been here, it is NOT flat.
the start finish line is on the "straight" - kind-of bottom left.
You can see turn 1 is just a kink in the straight; 2 is a 180 degree hairpin; 3 a medium speed righthander; then the short straight to 4; turn 5 up a hill; turn 6 up a hill & kinda blind; turn7-8A make up the corkscrew - a high speed downhill monster; just when you think you are outta the woods turn 9 jumps up still downhill; you can see parts of 10 from the turn 3 area if you stand up; turn 11 is the last chance to outbrake anybody before the final straight to the finish.

I spoke with the offices yesterday about the 2010 MotoGP, and although they really are a ways from knowing the "exactly's", they don't anticipate much change in pricing or configuration from last year.
Here is an outine of what it might cost to attend the 2010 races. Understand that there are many variables, but this is a concept,OK?

Option 1 - I just want to go to the races for all 3 days.
    General Admission $100
Grandstand (metal bench) seat for 2 days (no charge on Friday) $40
    Parking for 3 days $50
    Program, eats, yadayada......
    a couple hundred bux pretty fast....$250? .....$300?.
bring a friend / wife / hottie? add another $150 or so MINIMUM.
Ride the Bus to the track? save $50
So the cheapest cost for 1 would be around $150 + food & drink
    Maybe $300 for 2....+food & drink ...program.

Option 2 - Full Meal Deal
Hospitality suites in turn 3 (look at the map) or turn 4.
    3 days general admission
3 days covered seats (folding chairs @ tables in the shade) very close to the track
Padock Pass (not included in above - probably $50 - $75) - allows closer access to the pit area - but not the pits
3 days parking very close to the seating
2 days breakfast & lunch buffet. in the past this has been pretty hardy - lotsa food....and good food....not corn dawgs.
Wine, beer, soda, water (2 or 3 days.....don't remember)
    Program.
    Turn 3 = $525
    Turn 4 = $495
and for 2, its just double.....so she better Really appreciate the trip!
    not cheap.

Option 3 - the Mama Bear
    Called the Flag Room.
You get the most of the benefits of the hospitality suites, EXCEPT your seat is in a grandstand (metal bench) - not a covered area.
    I have to admit I got a little mixed up at this point, but I think she said "turn 11 = $350 - $395 / turn 2 = $450"
but the idea is "more than the cheapest & less than the most expensive....."

Option 4 - Probably not an option
    Corporate Hospitality Suites
You need to have 38 people or more, and you can negotiate some on the price. These are located along the straight between 3 & 4.

There may be some limited access to the Pit area for an additional charge. this would be only during testing, not during Qualifing or the race. Probably an additional $50 - $75. Parade Lap is $75.
Other options go up to $1200. I didn't look into those - figured they DID include an Umbrella girl & I'm married.

The way it works is the people who sat in the seats last year get dibs on those seats for this year. If they DON'T take them, then they will be available to the general public at the end of October. Turn 3 fills up fast, turn 4 pretty fast (i'm told).

I've been to the races @ Laguna Seca 5 times, now. And I have to say that while i really enjoy the race itself, I find the activity around the actual race itself is even more enjoyable.
The comaraderie of thousands of MotorHead Bikers with similar intrests in the same spot.
Seeing Motorcycle Racing at the most exotic level in the world. The bikes are each a total "1-off".
And personally, I enjoy the international visitors we get to rub elbows with - especially in the Hospitality suites.

My name is Bob and I am a MotoGp-aholic.

while it sounds good, it sounds a little prcey for po folks like me... I talked to Tori also and we are both of the opinion that we enjoyed our rockstar treatment at our hotel so we are gonna do it again... I mean, afternoon tea time is comp wine and cheese... what's not to like? We are just gonna try to stake out our seats on the hill earlier.

HA ! We WERE on Cannery Row ! We were the "cool guys" that got to ride thru the police barracades, thread thru all the people wandering about, and pull up as they undid the chains from in front of the hotel as we backed the bikes in. Tom Cruise's got nothin' on us !
