Now that you, the VFRworld community, have contributed some great photos of our beloved VFR, it's time to vote and decide which photos will make it into the 2007 calendar!

You can view the entered photos in the 2007 VFRworld Calendar Gallery here:

    http://vfrworld.com/photos/showgallery.php/cat/578

The gallery software has a limitation of one vote per member, which is not configurable. It would be nice if we could allow each person to vote for multiple photos, but that won't be possible this year due to the software limitation. What we're doing instead is moving the photos that receive the highest votes into the 2007 Calendar Finalists Gallery, which you can view here:

    http://vfrworld.com/photos/showgallery.php/cat/583

Once photos move to the finalist gallery, that means they have been selected by the community to be among the best photos, and will be included in this year's calendar!

It also means that all users who voted for those photos will have an opportunity to vote for a new photo. In this way, you will actually be able to select multiple photos for entry into the calendar. So check back often, you may be able to vote several times!

The last day to vote for photos is Friday, December 1, and the calendars will be available shortly after that, in plenty of time for the holiday!

Note: If you still have a photo to enter into the contest, you are welcome to upload it to the Calendar Gallery. The sooner you get it in, the better chance you have of collecting votes!

...i can explain.... There is the option to change your vote. Recently there have been alot of new pics posted, so since you can only vote once, people are probrably changing their mind, and putting their one vote on their favorite photo.

Wow, it looks like my photo "At Speed, Road America Turn Three" got the high five! Thanks a ton guys!!!

That picture was shot last spring by Jack from Slider Photo who was photographing all of the NESBA events at that time. The VFR did itself proud out there amongst the wolves!

When will the calendars be available Michael?

Diane - Unfortunately, I don't know what happened with the votes. I can tell you that I didn't change anything on the backend, so the assumption is that people changed their votes. The good news is that voting is still open, so have your entourage vote again. :)

Jethro - I'm expecting to have the calendars available by Monday, 12/4, in plenty of time for your holiday stocking! I just wish there were more than 12 months in a year so that I could fit everyone's photos. I feel bad that not everyone will make it into the calendar. Maybe next year we'll put multiple photos on each page to fit more, but for this year I really liked the idea of a classy calendar with big pictures.

One more day for voting, and three spots still open! (Four if I use a different photo for the cover). It's definitely 6th generation-heavy, but what the community wants, the community gets. :)

Voting will wrap up tomorrow, so go vote now! Over the weekend, I will put the calendar itself together and make it available.

    VOTE NOW!

Wow! not being bias here as "all VFRs are great!" just not the new ones, seems there's alot of vfrs 98-06 photos here, in fact two white ones, love that color but come on now, even thou one has bags, sheesh big deal, if thats the case, just an idea maybe there should be a generation calender. lets see a good cross section of all the VFRs. At this time there's, Hmm only one in the group thats not 98 or newer. whats this no 3rd-4th gens? Yea I know its voter generated, still come on man.. think I'll vote for one of mine that has 4-5-6 in it, if only I could.. Hey! Calender is still a good thing.

Lesson learned for me - Next year, I'll create multiple categories, maybe:

    1st & 2nd Gen
    3rd & 4th Gen
    5th Gen
    6th Gen

Have three photos from each generation, making for a well-rounded calendar. Too bad I didn't think of it before.

Yes, there is some redundancy in the calendar, but all the shots are still cool, and it's not everyday you find a calendar with ANY vfrs in it, so I think it'll be fine for this year, and then we'll refine our system next year.
