2000 800FI Won't Start- 1st time ever!

    The same thing happened to me before I bought my bike. The guy who was selling it clearly flooded it. He started it, let it run for about five minutes and then turned it off. Next time, it would not start and it was two days later. I replaced the plugs and problem solved. Not a hard job and if they aren't already new then you haven't lost much.

    Wow. If your bike just died like that. There was no indication that it was heading that way? Changing fouled plugs is easy fix but it usually means that there is something else going on and the plugs will foul again.

    get a 2nd opinion on that...as if the compression was that bad the bike would have never run properly and been very hard to even start at all..Hell i ride my VFR like i stole it half the time and at 23,000 miles it runs like a champ..

    :eek: I've heard of an engine problem on a Gen 5 like it, what was it like to ride when you bought it, how many miles have you done since ?
