Naah I'm not going to mess with the geometry. I haven't scrubbed them in properly yet but so far all seems well. Remarkable how warm the parts of the tire not even used yet get. And very sticky for a sports-touring tire!

    Nice.

Update: Mounted the Pilot Road 3 rear last week.

The Pilot Power has deeper tread on the sides than the OEM donut so I wore out the middle of the rear with a bit of tread left on the edges ...or at least on the right side, the left was a bit more worn. Either way, it was time to replace the rear. The front has (had) probably another thousand miles in it, so I'll wear it down before swapping it out.

I mounted the Pilot Powers at:

...and here we are at mounting the Pilot Road 3:

...which comes out to 2744 miles on this rear; actually much better than I was expecting.

    Oh yeah, that's purdy!!!

I've actually got about 200 miles on this tire now, about half of that in the canyons, so I can give some feedback.

It does provide a more stable feel on the VFR than the Power did. The sidewalls of the Power did the job, and it never felt loose, but on harsh ridges you could feel the sidewall really give under the weight of the bike; the PR3 feels a bit firmer in this regard, but seems to hold the road with every bit as much tenacity. In fact, I broke this tire in on a cold drizzly morning on Mulholland through the Santa Monica Mountains and it never gave me a hint of concern about grip.

I'm really happy so far, and look forward to mounting the PR3 front prior to my long weekend in the Sierras on Memorial Day weekend.

Parting shot of the big girl on the lift (excuse the mess, I've got a lot of projects going on at once right now). lol

Again, Zen, thanks for the info!
I'll be very interested to hear from you once you've swapped the front. On my Pilot Road 2CT's the steering is quite heavier than on the OE Dunlops. But with a stability in fast corners previously not encountered on any bike.

    Well done, keep us posted!
