    Hi all.

Im just looking for a bit of advise/opinions on spraying my 1990 VFR750F.
This is a picture of my bike, with a bit of photoshop work done to see how it might look.
It's pearl white at the moment.. Previous owner didnt know what bike he had, hence the vtec stickers.:sorrow:

Any and all comments welcome. Ooh, and any advise on making the bike more sporty would be great!

Is the VTEC sticker under clear coat? If not and the pearl white paint still looks good, I'd stick with that. I love the white 3rd Gen.

Shoot bud, think ya should keep the white and maybe put the black where you have it in the red picture, and maybe PC the wheels goldish bronze...Looks good....is the paint messed up, or can it be cleaned and buffed?
    Red looks awesome as well.

Yea, unfortunately its has a clear coat, and recently a bit of accident damage to the left side panels. So i figured if i have to spray it, i might as well do the whole bike now rather than later.

Any opinions on vinyl wrapping the panels, I've seen a few videos of it, but I'm not familiar with it myself.

I got a white one and a black one. White looks unique, have a blue seat cover on mine.

So I'm resurrecting this thread, as i finally got my bike all fixed up.. Its taken ages and been a real nightmare finding people at really take pride in the work that they do.
I had taken my panels to a guy to fix them, and he landed up having them for 7 weeks and did absolutely nothing, which made my blood boil. I just decided to fix the panels myself, went out and bought the tools and all the materials, and it only took me 2 weeks working in the evening to fix all cracks and missing parts of the panels.

I found an awesome guy to spray the panels for me, although it took a little longer than i had expected. Well worth the wait i think though.

So now that i have it sprayed, (and yes, i went with pearl white again, i couldn't help myself)

I'm having a hard time figuring out what the original decals for the bike look like. I'd appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction.

Here is a link to a site that sells OEM style decals. Don't necessarily have to buy the decals from them, unless you want to of course, but it might give you an idea as to what decals there are and what they look like. You might be able to get a set made from a local vinyl company.

For the "look" and "proper" decals for your bike, go to Google images. Hard to tell what is right and right for you since it is your bike and here in the states the only color choice and perhaps even the graphics choice was limited to red for the 90-93 VFRs.

Sounds like if the VTEC graphics were under the clearcoat, the bike was repainted once before.

Bottom line is that some folks like stockers and others like custom looks.

Not a clue as to what bikes were imported from Japan to SA as to color and graphics. IMO, stockers suck. I suppose there are those who go through life and never deviate from one beer and buy all their duds from Walmart.

"Graphics" are not limited to vinyl applications. Some neat stuff can be done in paint using weeded vinyl masks. Another nifty is pinstriping either using real paint or vinyl tape.

For ideas and color and section combos, take a look at one of the major sites for US hotrods. The site for Hotrod Magazine is a great source.

As long as you don't use any Harleydood look stuff like skulls, conchos or those fake bullet holes, you are good to go! ;)

Um, my 1993 VFR, bought in California (after it became a state ;^)) is pearl white... And I am the original owner.

    For whatever that's worth...

Let me know if you want pics of the original decals...

Have to say, I like the pearl white too the way it is. Had a college buddy going to buy one years ago that was pearl white too and always thought it looked cool.

The idea mentioned above about black on the bottom sounds like something cool to consider. I also think the white is very unique as well.

There were a few white VFRs in 1993. According to sources they made a few white ones because they had some leftover white wheels

Then again maybe you got one of the red ones that faded..:)

    Is Um a member here?
