Really close. Purchase and install chain. Paint bar weights.

Been working on this thing FOREVER, other stuff just always seemed to get in the way. Not a lot of mods... just fully refurbished. Out of money, but I just needed to get this thing done and on the road. Stainless brake lines and a real shock will be next... sometime. (I did rebuild it... well before people like Jamie started modding replacement shocks... and never came across a Fox TC that was cheap enough for me.)

New upper fairing stay, inner fairing surround and both radiators. Cams/followers were perfect. Front rotors are iron that were on a spare set of wheels I bought. Exhaust was the very last Sudco available, got a good deal from them because it was missing some hardware. New switch assemblies that I rewired to work (Left one was kinda tricky because it had the headlight connector integrated). K&N with re-jetted carbs.

I'll post some more pics with some body work on.

Wow, amazing. Like the forks, clipons (polished?), motor (painted?). The 4-1 exhaust is perfect for the 1KR, it makes the bike imho. As someone that has done one of these you've raised the bar, it looks incredible. :thumb:

I like it. It's always nice to see a classic in such nice shape. I can't wait to see the finished product. Great work!

Nice, very nice. Can't wait until I'm into the new house and get my crap out of storage hell. Then can get stuff situated and start working on mine. Cool outside hot and cold hose bib.

Rode it today! Birthday weekend... happy birthday to me! Can't believe it actually went down the road. Jetting good... yes! Didn't want to pull it apart. Lowers won't fit with the headers. Not going to start hacking my bodywork, I've got another set that need some glass repair, I'll modify those. Exhaust sounds great.

Took the day off of work (Birthday), and finished up a couple items. Bar weights painted and on. Grill around headlight painted and on. Short ride... first freeway on ramp burst... pulls clean all the way up... sounds incredible, both the exhaust and the intake roar.

Couple pics with the lowers on, turn signals and rear fender. I will probably lose the rear fender again when I integrate the rear signals in the taillight. The trimmed fender and the tucked turn signals in these pics are what I had envisioned when I started, but I just love the rear with nothing but the plate. Don't know what the hell I'm going to do for front signals. Don't want tiny aftermarket ones on the stock brackets and I'm not drilling holes in the bodywork. Thinking of integrating some in the headlight/vent area, but the front/side visibility would suck. Trying to find something that would protrude out of the fairing where it flares out a bit for the front signal brackets. Front/side visibility would be good.

What about mirrors with turn signals integrated into them?

Thought about that. But I just love the way the VFR750 mirrors look and they mount exactly like the original mirrors.

It's looking really nice. I really like the black grill around the headlight instead of the white. It is much more subtle and better looking. The 500 doesn't look half bad either.

It looks incredible, nice job. When did you buy the exhaust? Did Sudco have that in stock until recently??
