Still sounds good. ;-) And cell phone audio is harsh!

    Cool man.

I've been working on fabricating a petcock for my gas tank. I rigged this up to attach a feed to it.

So this is what I came up with as a petcock.

Pretty clever, but what sealant did you use?

I should also ask, did you incorporate an o-ring in your design?

This Permashield sealant and Liquid tape. The liquid tape is awesome for rubber repair. Better then glue sticks IMO and much easer to apply.

I HIGHLY recommend you add some fuel and let the tank sit over some newspapers for at least a week.

You will likely need to incorporate an o-ring into your design.

Just to be clear Mike, I put an o-ring on the tank filter then installed it in the gas tank. Then I coated around the o-ring with the liquid tape. Then I did the same with the two screw o-rings. I then coated the entire bottom of the block I made with the liquid tape. After securing the block to the gas tank I filled in the sides with the permashield.

Got it. The oring around the strainer tube is key, as long as it is getting squished a bit. Not sure what the orings around the bolts are doing.

If gas gets by the main oring, there isn't a sealant that will hold off fuel forever.

Like I said, pretty clever! Hope it works.

the o-rings around the screws are just for extra security. I should be mounting the tank soon. I'll know then.

I had to order a quality inline petcock as the cheap Chinese one leaked. Now we're good.
