03 VFR clatter in drivetrain, off throttle

    I agree with this. If you ever fight the condition of your chain, then coast downhill with your engine off. You'll feel anything chain related.

    My chain does the above and I thought, well, better order a new chain set. Decided to ride it and pay attention to what the chain felt like. I did a gravity run down from the Snake on Mulholland and it was completely smooth. Incredibly peaceful too.

    Used to do that from the top of Stunt where we stopped last ride and see if we could make it all the way to the bottom engine off, where it meets Mulholland.
    84-85 remember how quiet it was.

    Could there be a new fad in the works here coasting ones bike just for the sake of.. you guys down in the greater LA area have a lot of roads where that could happen. I mean if skate boards can... right ;)

    This is exactly my experience. Maybe I'll start with a new chain/sprockets and see if that helps before going the CCT route.
