Here's the old girl. She still hit 140mph, stock with a minor rear sprocket change.

    Awesome pics!

I love to see the older bikes on the track.

    Thanks,

I am going to Talladega GP July 10-11. The CBR 954 is down for the count so I am taking my 98 VFR.

The left side still has the peg extension, so I need to pull that off.

Even though STT allows antifreeze in the Novice class, I think I will flush that out and put Water Wetter in it. My bikes stay in the garage during the winter months so this isn't an issue.

The tires are in good condition. Running Michelin Road 2's and they are stuck pretty well for S/T tires.

I was bummed at first that I can't take the CBR but now I am getting kind of excited about tracking the Viffer.

Got a back protector on order so I can move up to Intermediate if I want.

Got the coolant flushed and replaced with distilled water and Water Wetter. Ran out of distilled water, gonna pick up a few jugs after work.

While I had the coolant out I replaced my fan blade with one from a VTR 1000. We will see how that works tomorrow when I go on an all day ride with my girlfriend.

The biggest complaint I had with the VFR on track was the front end dive. My rear was stiff at the time as I was touring with lots of gear and the front was fairly soft. I have since cranked up the preload and she corners much better. But I don't think she'll see another track unless I just happen to catch Laguna Seca.
