I had the same issue with the wax unit on my 06 VFR. When I fired the bike up cold there was no fast idle. For some reason I had it in my head...
It looks like a coating job gone bad. I imagine it will be pealing off and clogging up the fuel system shortly. Curious to see what it goes for.
