IMHO - We have seen multiple times from many burnt bikes that the wire harness in general is just undersized for the duty cycle it is being asked...

A basic load tester does a roughly 10 second load and the battery is rated good/bad based on output amperage. Usually the voltage will drop a volt...
I have to really pound my '98 to get the wheel off the ground at all. Usually it will skim the pavement a few inches, but that's about it....

- Do a load test on the battery - off bike. Confirm that its good or bad and go from there. - Go to battery's plus or an auto part store to do it....
