If I am not mistaken the only way fuel gets into the float bowl in through that needle ... unless the the o ring or crush washer on the valve...
Switch the needle to another carb and see if that cylinder fills with gas ... also make sure your float is ok ... no holes etc Sent from my...

Agree.... I think they are solid bikes. My 84 Vf1000f has 68,000 miles on the original engine and it still pulls great .... do the maintenance...
