Rode to work and back (16 miles) on a sunny day @19 F. once and now ride alot in winter at 40 or a bit less. ( i never claimed to be "normal"....
seems amazing to me (at 75 yo) that any sensible street rider would would want more power than a VFR provides. :rolleyes:
On second gen VFRs headers were stainless steel and never get as bad as yours. Another example of Honda going to lower quality over the years....

gens 3 and 4 don't have a "reserve" setting but depend upon the light to indicate low fuel level. you need to figure out what the distance is...

I don't believe any grease is good on diaphragms.
it might be possible to remove the sender from the tank and bend the float wire to correct the problem, but i'm not sure. i'd be afraid of...

test front brake switch by touching the 2 switch wires together with key on. check fuses and bulbs. o_O one fuse controls many indicator lights.
