a good old toothbrush and some petrol will do fine in ninety % of cases, just needs scrubbin.
it's kinda awkward getting to them, but there are two drain bolts [ten mm] on the engine just behind the front header pipes that need to be...
be sure to check the small filters above the float needle seats.
:cool: just loosen the nuts and pull the cables off the holder, the only way i do it because too many of those screws are buggered up by inept...
does it run better when using a little choke ? check that float settings are correct, about nine mm.
after many years the diaphragms may shrink or swell, and that makes getting them back in the grooves correctly a problem and a common screwup....
^^^ for a good clutch bleed it's usually helpful to remove the front sprocket cover [or just the slave] and fully retract and hold back the slave...

a somewhat longer line might solve the problem if you can route it so curves are gentle, not severe.
