Glad you were able to get the bike. I have seen a 3rd gen with over 200k on it. Rode it too, and I could not tell it from a "fresher" model....

A couple of the guys on the VFR mailing list have broken the 200k mile mark with a 3rd and 4th gen. I have seen these bikes and ridden the 3rd...
