Sounds like the starter clutch if he has a spinning noise but no action.

There are just a hand full of gaskets and seals for the lower end and with the age I guessing you will have to order what you need piece meal.

I did carry a Cristmas tree home on my VFR once.......I was young and dumb.
That is piss poor but all is not lost. There are bearing mounting products for just such a disaster. Have to resort to this kind of thing myself...

Still sounds like a low voltage issue. You can try jumping it off a NON running car to see if it will turn over.
