The only real problem with polishing is that you have to tend to it constantly or it looks terrible.
Pretty sure any gen will work with no mods. Got a gen 5 on my gen 2. Plug and play.

As long as your talking gen 2 your all good, not sure what years were sold in your country. Gen 3 and up were quite different and not gonna happen.
