I had someone put a thicker grade oil in my old VF500 and it made shifting much worse. Stick with 10W40.....if there is the correct amount of oil...
So I got the carbs installed...it took a very long time. we really had to pry those rear boots open and really push in hard. Chewed up the boots...
So the plan is to install the front boots and place the rear boots on (lightly) and tilt them upwards? Then install the front carbs firmly into...

Yea....I did have the rears tilted upwards....and yes the carb insulators are only from this past August...but I can't figure out any reason why...

I'd think (and hope) that the only difference is the inlet size. (2.6 vs the older 2.4) So there is a 0.2mm difference. So the fuel will flow ever...
I just got back from Honda...spoke to my buddy that works in parts. The old part number for the float assemblies has been superseded. So Honda...
I really hope it's ok....I'd hate to have to dish out more cash to replace all float assys.

Ya....I think I might try and find a length of rubber hose and mock up some kind of gravity feed test of fuel using a funnel and lots of shop...
