The lever to release the seat is behind the helmet lock - which is on the left side. Pull the lever down to release. Congrats on the purchase.
Like Michael D said, my primary goal when out riding is to make it home to see my wife and kids - in one piece. I haven't been on this forum...
There is also a push rod that the lever pushes into the clutch master cylinder - just make sure it either stays in place during removal of lever...
It's the least I can do for all the knowledge I get from this site!

Got my 95 with 18k for $2500 a month ago. Factory hard bags and TBR exhaust. I did have to drive over 100 miles (each way) to pick it up though.
