Oil isn't supposed to stay clean. It's supposed to carry the dirt in it. If the oil always stays clean it's probably not doing it's job.
I had one on my 2nd gen. Wasn't a great mod. It stiffened the front a bit. Definitley not worth spending too much $$ on. LOL...I sure did.
