    Shift lever linkage

    I have an 85' vf500f, and the linkage for the shift lever is real loose and sloppy. anyone have any quick or relatively simple way to fix this?...

    another way that works well is to heat up the boots up (with a head gun) and soak them in a jar of wintergreen oil.

    it could be the sensor, the one on my 85 500 was bad and the previous owner just rigged up a toggle switch because the sensors aren't too cheap
