That's not a lot to go on. When bikes I've owned have done this, it has been the kill switch being dirty/damaged.

Know that fit and function aren't the same thing. You'll want to verify a match for both. Canister size can affect oil level, of course....
Pressure? None, really, I wouldn't. A lot of moving parts bathed in oil throwing oil everywhere...likely.

Most say 2/3 to 1 turn from when the O-ring touches, usually on a sticker on the filter. Remember to ensure the old O-ring is off!

I wanted to get one many times. Quite a few friends had them. Like you, I felt completely disconnected. Same with the ST1300. VFR fits the bill.
