I just put some Pirelli Angel ST's on my 2000 VFR and after a few hundred miles I can honestly say I love them quite a bit!! Really made the bike...
I would start by Bleeding the Hydraulic clutch......If it has air in it, it will not disengage fully, etc.

Look into changing the plug wires.....at least one is bad and they should be ale to handle water/rain.
